I don't know if this has already been beaten to death on here yet but am I the only one that thinks the Mass Effect universe would make a great TV series. Maybe Mass Effect the Next Generation? This way we can move past the events of Shepard and the reapers. Maybe the Normandy can still exist and we can follow another human Specter and his or her adventures. Seems like a perfect fit, much better than the idea of making the current storyline into a movie.

I'd say Jeff is in the minority amongst his peers in terms of honesty and perspective.

I had a discussion with a friend about a year ago, I said that there still has not been a definitive story told in video games. There has been nothing comparable Moby Dick, or Citizens Kane. Video games are still in their infancy as a story telling medium but to date video game stories are terrible.

I thought Mass Effect 1 was amazing, the game play was lacking but I felt the the effort was put forth to create something that transcended the game. I thought maybe it could become like the original start trek series, not a great show but the beginning of an idea, an intellectual property that has lasted almost 45 years. Then came Mass Effect 2 and 3, the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions of the series.

Mass Effect 3 is terrible. The action is boring and rote. Incomprehensibly, faceless Cerberus shows up at every mission to create a Horde mode level, the story is dumb, and yet, rave reviews everywhere. Please, Please, reviewers, start holding games to a higher standard. Judge them for what they really are and not what you were hoping them to be. Force developers to give us something more, something better. I'm getting tired of paying $60 for games that are devoid of creativity and are simply mass market checklist products. Maybe I'm the minority but my desire to play these products is waning. Maybe I am just asking for too much. What do you think?

In the past few years I've bought more games than ever, however, I have finished hardly any of them. That's not to say that I haven't finished some of them but it got me to thinking; is it my fault or the developers? Some games have completely hooked me in and I've played them to completion while many others I have just started and sort of lost interest. Many of these games that I have not finished are very well regarded and critically acclaimed so where is the disconnect? I'm wondering if most games just aren't as much fun anymore? I started gaming in the early eighties and I believe that the actual "feeling" of those early games is what made them fun and separated the great games from the mediocre. Graphics were not the defining characteristic or story telling, it was how they felt to play. I think that that visceral feeling is absent in many modern games. Developers tend to rely on shaders and Hollywood writers to make their games and forget that the actual "feeling" of the gameplay may be the most important thing. I also wonder if this is just a phenomenon with older gamers? What do you think?

I've heard them bash gamestop plenty of times on the bombcast. I have also heard them talk about wanting to be considered serious journalists, i'm sorry but there is no room for petty personal opinions in serious journalism

I love the giantbomb crew but you sound like a bunch of ignorant brats when you bash gamestop. All retailers suck, they all want your money but retailers like gamestop have helped the widespread acceptance and success of gaming. The giantbomb crew have careers in this field because of these retailers. I'm sorry if they have not always had pleasant experiences shopping at gamestop but the company employs thousands of people that are enthusiastic about gaming many of whom are trying to make their careers in gaming or possibly trying to support families. So when the crew bash gamestop i find their attitudes very disrespectful to these hardworking people that are partly responsible for eating job
