My Fighting Game Hall Of Fame

List items

  • The first fighting game I had ever played. With fast, fluid visuals, an excellent cast of characters, a well designed combat system and compelling story, Tekken stands out as one of the more exceptional fighters on the market. In my opinion, it is the king of 3D fighting games just as much as it is the King of Iron Fist. The best game in the series has to be Tekken Tag Tournament which combined the best parts of Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 in one epic PS2 game. If you're able to find any of the Tekken games, try them out, they're a blast!

  • A sadly under-rated fighting franchise. Virtua Fighter does well to blend its realistic combat with revolutionary visuals in each one of its releases. It also does well to build characters with excellent move lists and unique play designs rather than make variations of the same or similar characters with very poor move sets. Oddly enough, my favourite thing about Virtua Fighter is the music, which is fantastic on every game. The best VF game so far is VF5 itself, which all 360 and PS3 owners should try out today.

  • You might be wondering why it's only one game rather than a franchise, well basically because this is where Street Fighter had reached its peak. In honesty, if you want the best 2D fighting experience without the hassle of having to know seriously tough combos, well timed finishers and ridiculous AI balancing without being too slow, Street Fighter 2 Turbo is the right game for you. Essentially this is two games in one, considering this contains both Turbo and Championship edition. So as you've probably guessed, this is an awesome game, and needless to say, it is worth trying out.
