It depends on how much Tomb Raider cost to develop.
I've seen someone stating that Bioshock Infinite had $100m development costs so maybe Tomb Raider was similar.
Even if the sales were 3.4 million then the developer sees about 30% ($18 of every $60 sale) of that. 3.4 million * $18 = $61.2 million. My guess is that it cost more than that to develop...therefore disappointing sales. If is was $100m to develop then it needs to sell abotu 5.5 million to break even.
And that's not even taking into account marketing.
Developers rather than customers will probably squeeze Nintendo out.
It seems that it will be easy to port games between the PC, PS4 and Next Box so I can see 3rd party developers shunning the Wii U because of the extra work and extra cost to develop for it.
How long can Nintendo last on just 1st party titles?
Maybe Sandoval and a few other will go set up their own tech site, it will become popular with the cool kids and in 8 years CBS will buy them back...Just a thought.
