The games that stick with me after I play through them. The kind that I enjoyed greatly when I played them. You know, my FAVORITES.

(This list is unnumbered due to a bug - WHAT A MESS!)

List items

  • A damn fine reboot and a great entry-point for newcomers. Takes a lot of the cool mechanics from Nexus and Crack in Time and spits some sweet graphics into the mix to create... A MASTAPIECE.

  • Painfully short (around 5 hours), but it's a really fun ride while it lasts. I appreciated the change in tone to something a bit darker. The narrative was pretty solid for what it was. Plus they brought the hoverboots back... nice!

  • Definitely the strongest Ratchet game in terms of story/narrative. I enjoyed the new characters like Azimuth and Sigmund and what they did with them. It also happens to have the best villain of the series, so that helps. Plus those hoverboots... nice! Weak starting weapons and the lack of an actual upgrade system hold it back from being my absolute favorite of the series, but it comes close.

  • Maybe the weakest of the PS3 trilogy? Definitely suffers a bit from being an early PS3 game, which I experienced through a couple weird audio bugs and hard crashes. Tachyon can suck my big furry Lombax ass! Definitely enjoyable, but I wish it would've been a tighter/smoother experience (The on-rail shooting segments made me feel sleepy!).

  • A surprisingly awesome stealth adventure that builds upon the foundation of the first game in various ways. Corvo is an actual character now and there is more of a focus on crafting characters and telling a personal narrative. Multiple choices and ways to approach your objectives. It was a blast to see this one through to the end.

  • Very enjoyable 3D platformer from the PS2 era. The unlockable moves are fun/useful, the boss fights are all unique and the characters are great. Ends too soon, honestly!

  • THATS MY GIRRRRRRLLLLLL.... Arthur Morgan is awesome, the gameplay is fun and the story is (for the most part) pretty compelling. DAMN IT DUTCH! It's a real shame that the mission design is mostly just shooting galleries. The epilogue also feels pretty unnecessary. Still a really cool game at the end of the day, one of Rockstar's "best".

  • A bit bloated in terms of content, but Odyssey really feels like they've hit their stride with the gameplay of these games. I can understand people's misgivings with it's half assed ties to the overall franchise, but uhhh... these newer AC games are way more fun *to play* than a lot of those past AC games. Shrug!

  • A very solid Bioware RPG that is a pretty much at the same level as Origins. The characters are cool, the storyline is nicely done and the choices you make at Skyhold carry some weight. It unfortunately over-corrects on rectifying Dragon Age 2's mistakes and it throws almost too much content your way, but hey, you get a great amount of "value" with this game. Looking forward to 4!

  • Takes the series into the open world! Puts more emphasis on teamwork and pulling off heists, which is fun. That said, the missions start to lack in variety as the game goes on though and it does overstay it's welcome a bit (15-16 hours long?!). Still a great platformer/stealth game, though it might be my least favorite in the series?? Carmelita lost her accent...? wtf....

  • Sly 2.5 but with way more variety in terms of the jobs, which is (mostly) a good thing. The need to make every job different bites it in the ass near the end... terrible "ship" sections, woof. Still a great "finale/not finale" to the original PS2 trilogy and it's a perfect length (10-12 hours) compared to Sly 2! The Murray is here... Carmelita has her accent back?! wtf............
