2017. Another year of 'what I played'

This year I limited it to games I played that came out in 2017.

As it turns out that's not much.

Doing this list every year is a good point of reflection. Growing up I played most major games released and considered being a gamer a core part of my identity. Now, I am someone who likes games and obsesses about other stuff. That's not a statement about games, but about who I am at this moment.

I wonder what next year's list will look like.

  1. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

  I really liked the first game so this was s shoe in. I would have not though another game could be made in this universe but I am glad I was wrong.

  This game and the predecessor are also somewhat responsible for my current clothes.

  2. Heat Signature

  A great 6 hours, an ok 10 hours.

  I would like to thank this game for turning me onto the CnC podcast. I really like Tom Francis, and the podcast shows how we have very different ideas about what a video games should be.

  I also wish this game, but what little it does have it good.

  3. Divinity: Original Sin II

  I didn't finish this one but I liked playing it.

  I don't think I like turn-based combat. Playing on a lower difficulty makes the combat quicker but highlighted how little I like it.

  Play the first zone, it shows everything I like about Divinity and everything I don't.
