I have similar issue,but with a brand new controller and one I bought off a friend barely used and works fine on his system. My controllers will work plugged in and unplugged within a two foot radius of the ps3. This is not a charging issue or a matter of resetting them !! Does any body know of a tech site for internal issues with the console its self ? I am not afraid to open it and deal with it on my own. I also believe many of the similar problems mentioned in this forum are with the console too. The wireless is blue tooth I've read. If anyone can help,please do so. I will post any progress I have in hopes to help the rest of us in need.
