I was totally stunned to hear so many people say they can't wait for Anthony Davis to break out. You know what he did last season right? I am a Pels fan so I've been watching him for awhile so maybe I was just ahead of the curve. Is that just it? Did he really have that little national exposure so most people are now just seeing his amazing skill set and other-worldliness?

I know he is struggling right now, but I don't expect this to be the norm. I think it's nerves and trying to do too much. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out for the second half like the AD Destroyer of Worlds we expected. GO PELS!!!!!

So I remember seeing a new article that CBS is live streaming there football games now. I've been trying to find it, but I'm coming up empty. Does anyone know where to look or how to get it to work? Also is there an app on the Roku that I could use to watch these live streams? Thanks dude and happy football!

As a marine biologist I can't help but try and help spread the good word of sharks. I hate how sharks are villianized and feared. I work with sharks all the time, both big and small, and I have never gotten bitten. The worse a shark has done to me is given me shark burn (when the shark rubs against you rubbing off your skin much like carpet burn). All you have to do to avoid a shark is be aware of your surroundings. Sharks have no interest in eating humans or even nibbling on them. They usually just bump you and realize "Hey this isn't a fish. I don't want to eat this" and move on. Sharks are a vital part of the ecosystem, and shouldn't be feared but loved for all they do for the oceans. So next time you see a shark give him/her a thumbs up and tell them how appreciative you are, they really love the recognition.

I'll end my post with a fun fact that I always use during little tours I give to visiting school groups and such when they ask me after coming across a big pair of Tiger shark jaws if I'm afraid of shark attacks. I just respond that they are twice as likely to be crushed by a vending machine than die from a shark attack. I welcome the site of a shark, but run in fear when I have to go get a candy bar.

@bobstar: I don't think being a leading scorer in Summer League really will translate to actual NBA games, but I'd be happy to have Seth Curry as a 5th guard. I imagine Seth playing a similar role as Brian Roberts did for the team a few years ago. He can score, can't really defend well, and acts as a bench spark plug.

Also I find it incredibly sad that the addition of Seth Curry is an exciting prospect. I feel for your pain, and hope Porzingis brings you some happiness.

@bobstar: Yeah he plays for their Summer League team. He has been playing really well, but if he gets a roster spot he won't play very much I imagine. Also when you're hearing about how Anthony Davis is really working on his game and all watching Seth Curry doesn't really scratch that itch.

May I just say how amazing these blogs have been. I really enjoyed them, despite not knowing what some of the stuff you were talking about (i.e. V-3). I just wanted to commend you for some amazing writing, and truly captivating story-telling. I really enjoyed them, and was curious if we might see anymore EVE stories in the future from you. I enjoyed the crazy battle stories to normal everyday mining ones so whatever you want to share I would love to read. Thanks again for a great read!

Ugh I'm so ready for the season to begin, or at least the training camps to begin. As much as Summer League is important to see young players I'm not a fan. It is also because the Pelicans have no young players that really intrigue me, and I kinda doubt any of them will make the final team. I've just been watching Anthony Davis highlight videos to try and scratch my itch.

@aorey: It's so weird to hear about the pitching being wonky. The couple times I remember playing against my friend I remember him absolutely destroying me when he pitched. I would usually play a game get destroyed and pass it off to my other friend to give him his wallops.

Though after reading that maybe pitching is totally screwy, and it all makes sense now. haha

@aorey: Yeah it's so surreal coming back to games you played as a kid. A couple examples that pop into my head are Pokémon and Ratchet and Clank. In Pokémon I didn't know about repels at all as a kid so I would just fight everything I can across, and in turn be super over leveled. Now I know all about repels and found the game somewhat difficult because I was actually under-leveled at points. It made me wonder why the developers made the wild Pokémon so much weaker than all the trainers in that area. You have to fight 2 or 3 wild ones to get the same XP from a single trainer battle. It just frustrated me, and made me wish I could go back to my pre-repel days.

As for Rachet and Clank, I got on the planet that they sell the Rhyno gun. I figured I needed it to proceed because it was right there. So I just grinded bolts, mostly by getting the same gold bolt again and again, till finally I felt lucky and gave it another shot. I finally got past this swimming part and had so much money I could buy every thing I came across. That's more a story about how my untrained video game mind thinks rather than the developers. But looking back at it now there is no way I would do something like grind out all those bolts now. I would just stop playing or look it up. It's crazy to see/remember what you did when you first started playing video games.
