This game wasnt that terrible as long as you played as belmont.  It sure was not scary though.  Unless by scary you mean scary they let it come through that unpolished.  Or that they thought it was a good idea naming a dude Reinhardt Schneider.

Ha, brilliant ending. Castlevania 64 is cursed, cursed I tells ya! Anywhoo I'm looking forward to when you two actually start playing some legitimately scary games.

You guys should have suffered through it until you got to the garden full of chainsaw weilding maniacs that hunted you through the hedges.  These are kind of feeling incomplete if you don't bother to get into them a little!

Kamikaze skeletons sure are fucked up. Brilliant ending!

Oh shit, you guys are gonna play Clock Tower (if that tree is to be believed)? I'd stay the hell away from that. Spoiler: it sucks.

I love Castlevania 64! I was right around the age where it was pretty scary as well.

These better get longer. Especially for games like Silent Hill 2... that game needs you time to develop its unique atmosphere.

Man, that was great.  Ending was amazing.

I'd honestly leave Fatal Frame to last (or last but one to Amnesia.) Hunting those ghosts in first-person is acres more terrifying than dealing with James Sutherland's penis envy or whatever old Tetrahedron Noggin was about.

Ditto with Siren. Shibitos are several levels of fucked up and you need to constantly stay out of the visual range of their fanatically happy bleeding eyes.

@Make_Me_Mad: I remember that, didnt help that all the hedges in the maze looked identical. I also remember there being a time limit which is more frustrating than scary.

This game was totally playable back in it's era, since as Matt & Steve mentioned you kinda had to deal with dodgy cameras and death traps back then. I'm not sure whether this is the game that once you beat it you're asked to go back and play through it on hard to get the ending if so.. i'm glad things have changed since then, if a game pulled that kind of shit these days there'd be riots!

I can't believe the argument regarding how indestructible ghosts are wasn't brought up. Sure, it's hard to break a femur, but can you break a ghost? I dare you to rip a ghost in half, Steve!

I already can't wait for the Amnesia episode. Even though it's hard to get really scared when you are with 2 people, making jokes.

Games are only really able to scare you if you are alone, and playing it in a dark room.

They should record separate commentated playthroughs in dark rooms, alone, I want to see Kessler pee his pants.

Scariest thing back in the day was playing games on the snes with my brother at night with the sound muted hoping the parents wouldn't find out.

I also hate it when games mispronounce Wallachia, given that my grandparents are from Transylvania. Do your research announcer guy.

I never got to play a lot of games on the 64, but people kept telling me to avoid this game like the plague!

Kessler is really funny, the other guy not so much.

I think there's a pretty good chemistry between you guys. 
Kessler is a loose cannon and Lemon is there to set things straight and control him. 
It's a real buddy cop film.
