Write an up to 150 word essay to describe exactly what the fuck is a "Stairs Match" (10 points):

There are three cages, stacked vertically. In the first a normal match takes place in a sub-sized Hell in a Cell. Once the wrestlers get through the trapdoor in the located on the ceiling, they arrive at the second, smaller cell, which continues to be a normal match sans ring. Once someone is Irish Whip-ed through a door located on the side facing the set... stage three begins. There is a walkway around the second cell in stage three, and above it a third very small cell. Inside here rests the titular stairs. The first person to hit the other performer with the stairs and then scale them while they are over the body of the fallen wrestler is the winner. MOTY.

I think Corey Graves sucked, but it bummed me out to hear the guy has to retire. On the plus side, he was pretty okay on his first night of commentary and is already more managable than Alex Riley.

Also, NXT R Evolution was incredible but everyone already knows that.

As a (near) newbie to NJPW, and as someone who lives in Europe and wants to watch Wrestle Kingdom 9, I have a quandary.

How the hell do I watch it? For other events this year, like the ROH/NJPW show, I could watch it on Ustream but that is now of course gone. How can I legally watch it live? Am I stuck trying to force my way onto NJPW World? Does it take PayPal? Do I have to set a VPN (which I totally DON'T at all pay for in order to get the WWE Network or anything) to Japan? I can't think of any other options. I'd love to watch the English stream but I'm nearly certain it is not available here, and I don't want to watch a bootleg stream. I am delighted to pay NJPW (somehow) for a high-quality stream of their high-quality wrestling.

What is deeply involved @patrickklepek ? Sending a single engineer to Crystal Dyamics over to make sure the game reaches the much fabled 1080p? Sending a batch of sandwiches in crunch time? You're giving too much credit to Microsoft on publishing a game. That's not deeply involved but par for course on any type of exclusive publishing deals.

While I'm sure there are producers who's roles are not particularly key when the game is finished, the publishing aspect is crucial simply considering that Microsoft are funding the game. Left on its on own terms with Square Enix, it is likely this game would not have existed in the first place, or so the story goes.

Every year is relatively good to a certain level. It is the minimum that every year there are a variety of good/fun games to play. This year is no exception, with there being a wide variety of good games across all genres to enjoy. I see some folks in here talk about how awesome RPGs/Japanese games have been this year, great to hear that for a genre that I generally don't care about.

It is just that, there been nothing "stellar". Nothing amazing. Every year you can get, personally, 2-4 games that knock it out of the park. I played a lot of games this year, but that is more of a reflection of my reliance of cheap indies and a mixture of having a lot of time off in college/a job to earn money from. I have a great affection for Shovel Knight, Jazzpunk, Shadow of Mordor, South Park, Far Cry 4, Valiant Hearts, Transistor, Octodad, inFAMOUS SS, Super Time Force, Dark Souls 2... There is a nice stack of games I enjoyed, but nothing I'd qualify as game of the year material. These are great games to place #4 through #10 on my list, but not the top three spots. I love Jazzpunk, my potential GOTY, but it doesn't stack personally with GOTYs of the years past.

Also, a lot of big-budget games have been a mess, which doesn't help.

As someone who has played some of The Crew during its beta a couple weeks back: I disagree, Ubisoft.

Either way, lets hope they keep some of the bugs in the final version:

Raw was fine this week, it was different than usual which is a big plus on my book. HOWEVER, the return of the Anonymous Raw GM and then it breaking down with an evil "laugh" may be the dumbest ending to an episode of Raw that I can think of. So incredibly hokey, even by wrestling standards.
