@MmaFanQc: I just feel sorry for the SONY DEFENSE FORCE. I hate sony ever since they lost my account information and my bank informed me not Sony. Sony copies smash brothers, the wiimote, mario kart wii( mod nation racers)

I feel really sorry for you, writing such ridiculousness and talking about "defence force" will simply motivate and push me to react to your arbitrary accusation.

Again, twist what you want to make it fit your agenda, im a gamer and your bullshit wont stop it.

oh and too bad if you are butthurted for seeing sony being inspired by mario kart(honestly you shouldnt)...but guess what..you are kinda late to the party since it happened A LONG TIME AGO with CTR(now even rare and sega had their "kart racer"..but since its sony...you rage..lololololol!!), next, about the wiimote, now thats kinda interesting...... you are aware that sony was working on a motion controller since the ps2? take a look at two video ( 1& 2 ) showing the prototype (sure its pretty basic and early concept.. but at least dare to take a look), oh and may i refresh your memory about the SixAxis having motion sensors....and you forgot to notice a "small" but important detail about it.... IT was released BEFORE the wii was even released ...Oh Snap!!

(WAIT....WHAT? A Controller with MOTION SENSORS released on the market....be..be..be..befo...befo...before..the ..WIIMOTE?!!?!?? THIS IS MADNESSSSSS!!!!!!!! HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE!!!!! ITS A BLASPHEMY!!!!!....*wink*)

to resume, the move is simply the result of the prototype you saw in the video AND the motion sensor wich the sixaxis already had.

"they lost my account information" yeah right, you are trying way too hard, even a 8yrs old kid would be able to talk to the sony tech support in that case, you only have explain them your imagina.. uh i mean your supposed problem then you will have to supply them your personal infos you used to create your said account to regain the control of it. AND THATS A FACT, only a fool would deny it.

the xbox 360 (hd, hard drive, a lot of online shooters, pc style games on console), and copy touchscreen on a handheld.

lmao, do i really need to make you look like a fool even more than you already are? honestly, it would be kinda sad to beat a dead horse with a stick.

@robot4me said:

So disgusting to see all these so called "gamers" defend Sony when they copy everyone poorly and loose your ps3 - psp info and then loose all of the pc account info.

Shit, so you are telling me that they lost all my ps3 and psp and pc info? ...but yet sony had the balls to give a FREE 1 million USD$ ID theft insurance policy for each user ....despite no reports of credit card fraud being indicated.? Sorry kid but you are obviously out of touch with the reality and extremely beyond the point of no return of looking like a giant butthurted lying baby.

@robot4me said:

Grow some balls and call BS when needed. I always say I love Nintendo games but this gen the motion gaming is BS. I also say I like my 360 but call BS for the connect.

Grow some balls and call BS when needed YOU said? Holyfckn shit, i think the biggest industrial Irony-o-Meter just exploded in a million pieces.

@MmaFanQc: If you would reread my post, I said Sony completely ripped off smash brothers this time, not every time. This is one time anyone who defends Sony has to blind or are just haters who want Nintendo style games on a Sony console without buying a Nintendo console.

And even if it is a SSB rip off, so what? SSB is a good game and fans have been asking for a game like SSB that featured Sony characters for a long time. Why is it all of a sudden wrong? Do you and your Nintendo console feel threatened or are you so insecure to see a new brawl like game being fun and successfull? Ive been able to enjoy double dragon and street of rage...OOOHHHHH THE BLASPHEMYYY!!!!!!!.....am i a monster for daring to do against your "ideology"? you should really ask yourself if you enjoy video games ....or if you are simply a brand nut hugger....

.......rarely seen so much hate for a game before as soon as it was revealed...... simply disgusting, and thoses peoples dare to call themselves "gamers"?

@Hailinel: I'm annoyed that Sony has no new ideas and rips off a Nintendo game 90% this time.

I'm getting pretty tired of people claiming Sony are totally unoriginal. For all their strengths, Nintendo launched the 3DS with a range of games that were almost entirely sequels. The games we're getting excited for from Nintendo are both Mario games. They'll be fun and interesting, but it's still a Mario game. Sony launched the Vita with Uncharted, yes, but we also had Escape Plan and Gravity Daze. Not to mention the fact we've had the likes of Vib-Ribbon, Patapon, Flower, Journey and LittleBigPlanet, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Demon's Souls Heavy Rain, God of War.... all have been published by Sony or created by Sony's internal development teams

they created a lot of new stuff, ...if you care to look for it and not just arbitrarily designate it as ripoff bastards. Meanwhile others still surf on their old copy & paste bad habit....but i know...i shouldnt say that, it may offend some peoples.

@Hailinel: so i guess i will see you stating that all the future and past FPS are blatant ripoffs of wolfeinstein3d? ...or maybe every 2d plateformers a ripoff of mario bros. ?

I would hate to live in a world where games couldn't lift good ideas from other games for fear of getting branded a thief. (Sorry guys, you can't use the dual analogue control scheme for your first person shooters because Halo did it already. You have to use the right trigger to move left, up on the directional pad to shoot etc. because that is the only control scheme not used yet.)

My point is that developers should be free to use what has proven to work without fear of being labelled rip-off artists, because someone has done it nobody else should try it? right?

Since Smash Bros was released more than 10 years ago, we have not seen any other fighting game like it, until now.

Technically Smash Bros could be a rip off from Capcom's Power Stone series, but i dont even care since i liked power stone and liked ssb, and from the look of it, i will also like Ps AllStars BR.

meanwhile some fangirls will keep hating for futiles reasons...but you can't explain logic to these kids born in 1995 and up because they refuse to see logic.

Seeing as the first Smash Brothers was released a month before the first Power Stone, I don't think it could technically be a rip off. just sayin.

With all this noise I can't help wondering if some people feel threatened.

It's not like Nintendo originated all the concepts within Smash Brothers by themselves, in 1999 alone you also had Rakugaki Showtime and Powerstone released.

...and frankly I think some competition will force Nintendo to work a bit harder on the next SSB

btw, just because a game isn't original doesn't mean it's a complete write-off. I mean, Crash Team Racing copied a lot of elements from Mario Kart. But here's the thing: it's a really good racing game. It's fast-paced, there's some good track designs, the weapons are balanced: it's probably one the best racing games I've played. In comparison Mario Kart 64 comes across as a bit weak, or so I feel. Okay, yes, we should strive for originality, but innovation and quality are not automatically synonymous. A good idea may be executed poorly and if someone is going to try something else with that idea, why shouldn't they? Maybe this game will bring something new. Maybe it won't. Maybe it'll be an enjoyable experience, maybe even BETTER... and is that really so bad?

Finally, I'm getting pretty tired of people claiming Sony are totally unoriginal. For all their strengths, Nintendo launched the 3DS with a range of games that were almost entirely sequels. before the "oh my gawd its a blatant ripoff" comments begin,

The King of Fighters was released by SNK in 1994

Fighter's Megamix was released by Sega in 1996

X-Men vs Street Fighter was released by Capcom in 1996

But when Nintendo released Smash Brothers its like they invented the crossover fighting genre like Apple invented touchscreen smart phones.

This is an old tried and true genre and successful formula every major game development company should have.

after all, arent all the FPS games a blatant ripoff of Wolfenstein3D?

sure the gameplay is very VERY similar to ssb, but honestly its not a reason for the nintendo fans to go apeshit because the gameplay is similar.

..if the game is good and fun...whats the problem? ...and what if the game end up being better and more fun than ssb?

I have no idea if I should be offended by just how unabashedly unoriginal the game appears to be. Well, if you're going to imitate something, you might as well aim to copy from the greatest specimen of the respective genre.

@TaliciaDragonsong said:

Fuck me sideways, I want to like this (the idea of Smash Bros is great for any big name to come out with) but its so shamelessy copied it just hurts. If you'd tell me on a glance this is the new Smash Bros I'd believe you until I spotted the Sony characters. Ah well, not the first time Sony lashes out at something first and ends up 'stealing' it later. Guess I have one reason to get a PS3 for a dime in a few years.

@WinterSnowblind said:

A little too on the nose, no? I was expecting something more in vain of Dissidia.. not a straight up rom hack of Smash Brothers. I guess you can always trust Sony to directly rip off their competitors.

That said, I'm pretty hyped about Parappa the Rapper and there's a few other characters I really want to see in there (Daniel Fortesque!). I'm sure it could be pretty fun, especially as a handheld game. But it is a pretty gross clone and for the most part, Sony don't have the library to build up an interesting enough roster to really make it a serious challenger for Smash Bros. crown.

lmao at fanboys....so irrationals

KOF, FIghters Megamix and X-Men vs. Street Fighter aren't clones of each other. They just happen to occupy the same genre.

This, on the other hand, is Sony straight-up copying the Smash Bros. formula for their own use in the most shameless way possible. In a genre of fighter that includes everything from Smash Bros. to Dissidia to Power Stone, Sony would be better served making their own game, not slapping their characters into someone else's.

Don't know why some "peoples" are getting all upset over the game though. I think its about time we got more SSB-type games. Nintendo almost had a monopoly on the format for a while and I always wanted to see someone else take a crack at it, whats wrong with inspiration? it looks interesting, certainly fun.

Hey! Here's an idea!

Why don't we purchase games based on whether we think they'll be fun or not! Oooooohhhh!!! What a concept!
