The Only Mainline Entry I Can Talk About - Final Fantasy 16 [Spoilers Inside] 0

Final Fantasy XVI is the first main-line Final Fantasy title I have ever completed. This may be where one could split hairs, on whether Final Fantasy VII Remake can be treated as a main-line entry or can only live as a remake or as a spin-off considering all that Square Enix is offering the title. The only other title to claim from this series to story completion is Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. Now, games like classic Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy XV all have som...

We Have Dead Space at Home 0

Callisto Protocol is possibly one of the worst triple-A games I have ever played. I spent the last day of my holiday break completing the main campaign and felt like I should be owed another day off just for playing it. Callisto Protocol is one of those games that makes me terrified to spend $70 on a video game; thankfully, I had a month of Gamefly for only a dollar. It feels so clunky but so polished, so old while looking so new, so lackluster while aiming to be stellar. The game itself tries ...

A LAKE Not Worth Splashing In 0

Lake is everything my favorite game would be. This game is story-driven, has solid mechanics, a full cast of characters, and a day-and-night system. What I just described would have been my favorite game from 2004. Lake lays out all its cards within the first two days of game time: you drive, you deliver, you drive, you talk and deliver, you drive, you go home and talk, lather, rinse, and repeat. I had been looking forward to Lake since it was announced in the middle of 2020, but the game is so ...

The Last of Us Part 2 - Spoiler Review 0

When "Part 2" is added on to a sequel title as opposed to a sequential number many begin to wonder why it would alter the convention of just slapping a number onto the title and giving it a basic label. The Last of Us Part 2 is the most Part 2 thing ever; three days before Part 2 was released I finished the first game again, which I had not replayed since the game originally came out and had bought the Remaster in an online swap bundle never really intending to play it. Hot off the first game i...

Layers of Fear and the Baroque-n Gamer 0

Never before has fear been such a motivator inspiration to continue in a video game I've played before until I sat down with Layers of Fear. My college course of Art Appreciation might have pushed me into admiring something outside of a museum or gallery of beautifully constructed paintings hung on a wall for all to gawk at; o, did I gawk from the comfort of my own couch. My final project for this class was a PowerPoint titled "Rembrandt: Baroque Artist, Broke Artist" and the same sentiment ring...
