It's like they are trying to have a conversation in an active factory

This is an incredibly good description of this quicklook. So much random crap and noises going on while they're trying to figure out what the hell to do. XD

I was gonna say, another Unfinished?!

EDIT: They keep saying about the intro cutscene, "Man, this is cool." All I can think is, "Man, this is anime."

Also, I wonder how Bungie feels about 343 retconning this much? Bungie: "Spartans have to be engineered from birth." 343: "Oh, Buck? Yeah, he became a Spartan in about three years, no problem." And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I don't think the Halo lore is some amazing thing, but I did really enjoy the premise. But they've gone so far off the rails; the early books added so much absurd tripe, and they've just built on it since.

Let me put it this way: The manual for Halo: CE says, in a very space opera-ey way, that Master Chief is "the last SPARTAN-II." Now? We got high flyin', fist pumpin' Spartans for days. "Master Chief Petty Officer First Class?" Psh, this is the military, kid, call them by their names. Remember how cool Captain Jacob Keyes and Cortana were? Well, now we've decided that Keyes hooked up with Halsey, the lady who created the Spartan program and who Cortana's mind is based on! So, since Halsey is your mother (literally, George calls her mom in Halo: Reach) and Cortana is a memory imprint of her, you're basically lightly flirting with your mom for three games. Also, a close friend and co-worker, Sergeant Johnson has a thing for Miranda Keyes, the daughter of Halsey and Jacob. So your mom/AI is in your head while your co-worker tries to date your half sister. This is less space opera and more soap opera.

While I don't totally disagree with your stance on the current story, you need to remember that Master Chief was one of the FIRST spartans, back when it was a new program, and they didn't have better tech to create spartans with less investment. All that happened, what, 30+ years before the events in the Halo games? I lot of advancements can be made in that time. ;)

A few days ago my grandma, who is almost 80 years old, used an iPad for the first time to play Fibbage with us. She was in tears from laughing. It was amazing. The folks at JackBox really have something special with these games!

What an awesome and touching story. I'll also never forget the shenanigans my brother and I pulled to even get an Xbox in the first place. I used crutches to get sympathy in line so I got moved to the front and got the last Xbox at the store. I still feel kinda bad... but not too bad. :P Sitting down and playing through the campaign with my brother, and the years that followed, were easily the best of my life. I'll never forget when my brother accidentally skipped the helmet-cam cutscene that happened before the Flood were revealed. It made everything that much scarier because we had absolutely no idea what was happening! XD

FPS boss fights always look pretty dumb. He's 60 feet tall, why is he putting down a spark that is the key to killing him, why is he opening his chest etc etc etc.

There are legit lore theories on why he's doing all of those things (some are more than just theories). I don't want to get into too much detail, but he essentially wants you to kill him in a specific way to set specific events in motion. So yeah, pretty much everything about that end fight actually makes sense from a lore perspective. The Taken King lore is pretty incredible. If only Bungie let you read the lore in the game...

Holy cow. This Destiny talk is fucking ridiculous. It wouldn't be so bad if they said anything new, but they don't. They're constantly repeating the same points over and over and have been doing so since the game came out last year. "The loot kinda sucks", "the game needed more content at launch", "the leveling is dumb", "most of the raids suck", "you repeat a lot of the same missions", "the game needs new areas", "the systems are really complicated", "I really don't know why I still play" etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Please spin Destiny talk into it's own podcast, give me a timestamp so I don't have to scrub through the podcast to figure out were the talk ends, or STOP TALKING ABOUT DESTINY. Please.

To be honest, that's really just what Jeff says, while Brad kinda half-heartedly agrees. Brad gets Destiny. Jeff doesn't. I'm honestly surprised that Jeff still plays, as it seems pretty obvious he doesn't enjoy the game. 90% of the year 1 issues have been resolved in the Taken King, but Jeff still complains about 100% of the year 1 issues as if they still exist. Sure, year 2 isn't perfect, but the "issues" that remain from year 1 are tiny, and simply don't impact the game in the way that Jeff would want you to believe. If Brad was able to speak freely about Destiny without Jeff being there, I feel like he would speak quite differently. It's a damn good game now.

EDIT: Having actually listened to the Destiny section, I am actually really surprised at how positive everyone was (particularly Jeff). This Destiny segment was actually quite a bit different than most of them. Sure Jeff mentions some of his usual complaints (some of which are getting petty considering how good the game is now), but ultimately I found myself actually agreeing with him far more than usual. The part of them bitching about having to get six whole people together for a raid was hilarious though. MMORPGs have required dozens of people to work together for hours for years.
