Besides, I realized something: whether I'm writing about games or writing about myself, it isn't any different.

Daaaaaaaamn. That's a very powerful statement.

Great article all around. Hope to see more in the future.

I too tried GTAO with the older gen version, but didn't get hooked until PS4. I stopped playing it about a month after heists though. I had so much pimp vehicles, and a pretty strong posse I havne't spoken to since we all abandoned that game. Damn. MGS V is the right choice though. It's the best playing MGS game while being the worst MGS game. It's like that dope statue with the half arms, but you see all the stone laying around that would have been it's arms, and you're like "damn that thing would be even sweeter if it had those arms."

Definitely check out GTAO now. It's almost an entirely different game. The adversarial modes are actually really exciting and unique now. They've got modes that actually play up the idea of different teams and it just really goes well. One interesting mode that was added during Halloween is called "Slasher", where 9 people must try and survive with only flashlights while one player hunts them down with only a shotgun. Bonus: You are all locked in a confined and completely dark building/warehouse/facility. It's tense and very exciting.

As for MGSV, I don't even think I can disagree about the story. It's not great. They could have taken it so much further and actually committed to the idea of Venom Snake, but they floundered along the way and it ended up being a very weak story. That gameplay is something else though, it's hard to play games like Fallout 4 when you come from something with a framerate as solid as MGSV.

Maybe I should finish Revelations 2. I played like maybe half of the first chapter and hated it. Then I tried Raid Mode and it was also poopy. I just want a Resident Evil 7 that builds off of the greatness of RE5 and RE6 but jerks like you keep trying to lie to Capcom and tell them they are the wrong direction for the franchise. :(

Dude for real. That first episode is very weak. But it pretty much immediately pops off in Episode 2 and it doesn't stop until it's over. And I probably spent more time in Raid mode than I did playing the game. Not that it's saying anything, but it's a good place to spend some time and unlock some neat shit.

And no, RE6 was like going to Chucky Cheese for your birthday only for Chucky to be this violent drunk who swears at all the kids. There's a sense of safety and familiarity, but it stinks and will probably hurt you given the chance.

Dont get the hate for arkham knight (besides the obvious broken pc version) if you liked previous arkham games it was on par. Now mad max (the game) would be my most boring mediocre game of the year. And fury road was an average movie at best tbh, i guess compared to most current action movies it was great though.

It was just a total character assassination for almost everyone in the game. Not to mention the weird, spotty logic employed by characters. I mean, why is Two-Face robbing banks? His whole thing has to do with the duality of right and wrong, good and evil. Yet his big move is money? Slade Wilson, legendary mercenary capable of going one-on-one with Batman is... driving a tank? What? One of the most fun boss fights in Origins and you relegate him to a quick Batmobile fight? Hush, one of Batman's most fearsome enemies was dealt with in 5 minutes by being thrown into a table? After that big build up for him in City?

I just couldn't put up with it. Barely any of the characters in this game acted like themselves. I just don't know what happened after 3 solid stories that they decided, eh, fuck it, will do it live. It seemed very strange to me.

Man, I can't believe you rated Arkham Knight that highly...

I mean, it has a pretty cool photo-mode, if you're into that.

Arkham Knight was dope.

I bet you had to get into the Batmobile and drive halfway across the city, hack a remote terminal and activate a bridge that you could have just flown over instead just to post that comment.

Sense8 is mega lame. I was all not about that.

Jessica Jones and Daredevil are both really good. Arrow is a lot better(With a ways to go) this year than it was last year. The Flash is and will always be, great. Agents of Shield, I'm waiting for that to hit Netflix and binge through it. Season 2 was fucking awesome so I can't wait to see where they go with Season 3. Also there was a guy from Cincinnati on that show so you got represent. 513 in da hood yall.

The Walking Dead, eh, I don't know. I hear different things about it all the time. I hear it finally "got good" but then I hear it's still pretty bad so I'm not sure. I mean it's on Netflix so I can't really go wrong, but... ehhhhh.

There are a lot of other shows I want to watch but can't outside of piracy. So I'll just keep waiting for them to maybe show up on Netflix.

Good write up.

The one time I infiltrated a player's FOB, it was completely empty. There wasn't a single soldier anywhere.

It was very eerie. Snake just took a stroll around the FOB, looking for goobs to no avail. Eventually I found the base's core with some difficulty, and waltzed right in and won.

I always wanted to go back and check out more of the FOB system, but the idea of getting caught and a consequential invasion of my own base made me very anxious.

Maybe I'll go back and invade some more bases now that I've been finished with the main game.

They're all goobs to me now anyway.

Ah yes, you must be referring to the Phantom Operating Bases. Don't worry, you'll get rewards from that as soon as Chapter 3 hits.

Joking aside, they've completely goofed up FOB's right now and I seem to be getting matched with people who seem to have just gotten to the FOB aspect and then quit playing.

It's like Dark Souls PVP, except they practically come to you(in the form of a list of people you can attack). I love it.

You can also protect the soldiers that you don't want to be stolen, like Flaming Buffalo and the S++'s you get from beating the last mission. Just set them under direct contract(Go to staff management, find the soldier you want, hit L2). This will also lock them in place so they can't be automatically removed/fired. Which is great for all of those soldiers with unique specifications but a low rank, as the game will auto fire them when *lip smack* the time comes *lip smack*.

I've started getting into the FOB stuff to break up the Side Op cleanup monotony, and I can definitely see the appeal. Even though I'm still getting super-low ranked FOBs to infiltrate that have maybe one or two goobs and a cool guy on the entire base, I can imagine the built-up ones with active defenders being pretty exhilarating.

If the paywall ever hinders me at all, though, I'm done with FOBs for good. The existence of MB Coins still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Some of the stuff they are starting to do is really, really annoying. Limiting the things you can develop to 5 items now because of some "online only" limitation is fucking stupid. It's trying to force you to use MB coins to rush development and begin building other things, but the stupid thing is, the prices would be in the 700MB and 1000MB coin range, which is 7 and ten US dollars. So it's completely unrealistic unless you've got $50-$60 to spend per development queue.

It's a real damn shame because some of the new FOB items are actually really exciting, like the new drones, the laser grids that are actually going to use more than one laser, better surveillance cameras, and guncameras.

But, it seems that Konami may be in the final stages of getting every dime they can out of this game. It wouldn't surpise me to learn that they brought Quiet back just to release paid DLC for her without dealing with a "we don't even have Quiet and they release DLC" shitstorm.

Some jerk stole my nuke so I put on my motherfucking grenade launcher and my "fuck you 1-shot-kill" sniper and KILLED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS SOLDIERS THEN DANCED ON THEIR GRAVES!

Don't fuck with my nukes, bitch!

I gave up on nukes. They made it harder to keep them with the revisions. At least you get them instantly now instead of having to wait 4 to 24 hours for the servers to sync with your stuff.

But the downside is since it's so easy to steal them, no one really has any. So that aspect of the game has disappeared for me.
