It will ruin the game. There is no way Deep Down will be a well-designed game since all free-to-play games are compromised from a game design standpoint for the sake of profit. They are designed for whales, rather than players.

Free to Play means a ton of grinding so no thanks. I like WarFrame but that game would be a lot better if it wasn't wrapped up in free-to-play shenanigans where arbitrary unlockables like scarves are being introduced before important gameplay hotfixes.

A game like Warframe would never have succeeded had it been a buy-to-play product. It would be too strange and multiplayer-centric to garner a sustainable community, probably ending up with a community the size of Shattered Horizon or The Showdown Effect.

But I agree with you about the grinding.

My favourite is "Confrontation," the System Shock 2 art that was taken from Deviantart, with the robot lady looking at the space marine. Very beautiful and striking. Deviantart link: http://jimhatama.deviantart.com/art/Shodan-135337889

(Ed. note: never played System Shock 2.)

Is there a good way of looking at the different backgrounds, aside from searching the community market?

Jeff enjoys playing in the optimal manner, that's why he recommends it. I think he has expressed such an option on several occasions.

Is there any sort of HUD-based indicator of where you're being shot in GTAV? I don't recall seeing one in the Quick Look. That would explain why the lock-on is so ridiculous, since it's the only quick manner to figure out where you're being shot.

Lock-on gunfighting may be the optimal manner to play, but man, it makes gunfights look sovery boring. That mayhem mission was a joke.

Should have named this topic "GAT V released on PC for FREE - TODAY ONLY!" Missed opportunity!

Edit: Looking forward to playing it. Nevermind. It's a costume pack! Ah well, still cute.

Until I saw this topic, I completely forgot GTA4 even had fake tv shows in it.

From what I recall, Ricky Gervais sounded really forced - like they locked him up in a recording room and commanded him to joke. I don't remember anything else about the shows...

Edit: Oh wait, the Ricky Gervais thing was in a mission with Roman.

I voted Other: I can a while, I'll buy it on PC when it's on sale in 2015 or so.

If it is more focused and dedicated in its design than GTA4, it will be a lot of fun. I only hope it's a good port.
