Thankfully, it seems that Rockstar has been perfecting its online gameplay. GTA V online will be a fantastic continuation of their ideas in Max Payne.

I just had the opportunity to play this now, and I have to say that it's up there with the best games of 2012. How come it didn't get more attention?

Also, it seems that there are a ton of people still playing online, so how come the GB people never talk about this?

Edit: Hopefully they'll remember MP3 in a couple of weeks.

Is there something going on between SR4 or Deep Silver and Redbox machines? SR4 was available day one in my grocery store Redbox and I rented and finished it in 5 days. x$2, so I spent about 12$ total on this game and pretty much got everything out of it. It might be the only recent game that was available for rent in those contraptions, so my wallet hopes that this will become a trend.

On a different note, I played it on the PS3 and the performance was not perfect, but totally ok. Although I didn't necessarily love the game to begin with, the moment when RODDY F'in PIPER showed up and proceeded to beat up Keith David quickly made this game a winner for me.

It's been nearly impossible getting into a ranked match on PS3. Only way to play online has been public lobby, and even there it seems pretty barren. Did anyone buy this game?

I am absolutely horrified by the thought that 20 years from now I will be a grumpy 48 year old and chummers that are 28 will be ridiculing my Youtube/Facebook/Giantbomb daily routine and my overall Internet habits.

I mean, although I'm not bashing 20yo Jurassic Park and Doom, it's hard not to look at them as antiquated right now.

The solution: keep up to date with everything that's current. Don't dismiss anything as "this will never catch on" or "this ain't what it used to". With that mindset, I'm heading to iTunes to buy the newest Justin Bieber album and I'll marathon Twilight starting tomorrow at brunch. Gotta keep up!

@ignor: Wow GTA 2 was great. GTA 1 was great, too. what the fuck happened to this series and/or the years of my life?

Could I be more pumped up for the 5th? Yes, I could, but only if it were set in Vice City.

I just earned a doctorate, and although I found an adjunct teaching job at a university (basically part time faculty due for renewal every semester, with no benefits), no full-time opportunities emerged. Not even an interview.

Just keep trying.

Heard so much about this game on the bombcast that I finally decided to give it a try, in anticipation for GTA5. I played up until the mission that you free that big naked russian guy, and I have to say that I am profoundly disappointed.

First of all, the graphics suck and the framerate is bad (I am playing on PS3). Second, all the missions thus far have been really boring, and most of them seem like they are setting up side activities. If that's the case, I hope this stops soon. Third, I fail to see the "dumb", the outrageous, the "they went all out" that the GB guys have been talking about. It's all pretty standard gangster stuff, and all the characters are bland as hell.

It doesn't help that I am not fond of the gameplay either. Enemies take to many bullets to kill, are all basically the same male and female clones and the weapons suck. And the sound design for the car engines and ambient sounds is abysmal. My guy's voice (I chose the british guy is really not that great for me, either.

So, please tell me that there will be better stuff coming up, cuz I really plan on finishing the game (it's free on PS+), but if it doesn't get any better I might be burned out. For the record, I loved GTA4 and Sleeping Dogs is probably one of my favorite games of all time.
