next generation of consoles need to be upgradable. have a panel on the back thats easy to open that holds the ram and graphics card... then they can just release upgrade packs instead of entire new consoles, to keep up with the technology thats always evolving..
I can't tell if you're serious.
What you want is a PC.
how can you not tell that im serious? who wouldnt want to be able to upgrade consoles. the only people who dont want to do that are microsoft because they dont want people to think its just a PC in a box.
I can't tell either if your just trolling or don't realize the pitfalls of splintering your user base like that. Doing testing on multiple versions of each console would be too expensive and time consuming for developers -- and that's even if you only write one version of the game that will run on the slowest hardware revision. Developers would balk and move exclusively to the console that did not have an upgrade feature.
Patrick, where you say "... i.e. Scrolls: The Banana Expansion", I think you meant to use 'e.g.', instead. Also, I demand a quick look of Scrolls: The Banana Expansion. Make it happen!
Am I the only person who thinks that S.978 sounds like a video container?
No.
As for the bill, I think it's fine. Companies aren't trying to make us miserable, they're trying to make money with _their_own_ content. What if you put a lot of hard work into some piece of video that was good enough to actually sell, and then some jerkwad with a crappy website streamed it out to everyone who might have paid you otherwise. On top of losing all that money, the jerkwad also made a bunch of money of off his banner ads. I'm guessing you'd be pissed. But let's say you aren't pissed about losing your own money, what about anyone who was in your video who would have been paid royalties? Now, other people who may have been counting on that income, don't get paid either.
"If a developer wanted to, could they just leverage the Wii remotes and not the Wii U controller?
Frankin: It's going to be up to the developers to make those kinds of decisions. there's tons of possibilities. It's going to be up to them to figure out what those possibilities are going to be."
Patrick, I'm not sure why you are asking this question -- you asked it twice, in so many words. His second answer, quoted above, makes it sound like this is possible, if the dev chooses to do it, but, Franklin's reply is so convoluted, I almost wonder if he has confused himself. If he really meant to say, "Yes, if the devs choose to do it.", then why didn't he just say that. On the other hand, if he meant to totally deflect and avoid answering, then his answer doesn't make sense, not even according to weird PR logic. The developers obviously cannot magically wish some functionality of the system into existence.
People are saying the price is good, but let's see how good the hardware actually is. The social networking stuff and 3g scares me. I'm not paying 250 for another way to play angry birds.
