Nathan Drake is back and better than ever in his swashbuckling adventure for the ages. This game is absolutely stellar and drew me in like nothing else in 2009. Uncharted 2 is an absolute must play for any video game fan.

Braiiiiiiiiins! The cooperative multiplayer is unmatched. The new melee weapons are awesome and Ellis is one of the best characters from a game in 2009.

Pure action from start to finish, really a top notch game by any standard. The competitive muliplayer is the best available.

"There ain't no rest for the wicked..." Borderlands is a thrilling experience alone or with friends. The graphics look outstanding and shooting stuff to get loot has never been quite so fun.

"Feed me cake!" If hearing a fat cartoon princess yell that phrase doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will. Awesome competitive multiplayer makes for hours of enjoyment.

Great game from chair, I was really impressed with the Metroid-style gameplay and the graphics in this downloadable gem. Classy writing from Orson Scott Card only sweetens the deal and makes Shadow Complex one of 2009's finest.

I'm a huge football fan and FIFA 10 is a revolution. Easily the biggest strides made by any sports game this year, I can't in good faith ignore the quality of work done by the team at EA. Gooner for life... Viva Wenger!

An admittedly great game that just didn't keep me hooked like the Call of Duty franchise. The graphics were almost beyond belief and they help to create a dark and gritty atmosphere that is quite convincing. The multiplayer is good, but I still just do not like the game mechanic of having to shoot an opponent with 30 bullets before they go down. Overall a great show.

Relaxing and fun, flower had a charming and gorgeous ambiance. The fun didn't last too long and the gameplay was not very deep, but flower was good enough to come in at number 9.

Awesome idea, middling execution. The risks taken by this game and it's sheer creativity and charm make it good enough to snatch the last spot in my top 10 of 2009 list.
