It feels strange to see so many people talk about jumping out of this boat into the new one, especially in the forums of said old boat. After listening to a few podcasts with the new crew I dont really feel like Giantbomb has changed for the worse really. To be honest im glad everyone seems to be doing what they want with positive reception.
Im lucky enough that the old "Winter Games" and other skits from the past few years have gotten old enough that I dont remember too much and I cn go back and rewatch them now to get me throught this year since there wont be anything new this Holiday.
Obviously I want them to do whatever they want to do first, above all else. But I miss the petty arguing and tier lists. I couldnt finish last years debates as someone who watches their Quick looks, a lot of the hours-long discussions in the new format was reinstating what was already said in them. I also get they dont want to be downers and talk about games in the old way they did things, but there was also a lot of dumb fun to be heard too. I hope they find a happy medium between last year and the ways before that they deviated from.
I'd hate to think that many people just dont remember it, but Victor Lucas hosting Judgement Day and Electric Playground (and still is doing Electric Playground on youtube) with Tommy Tallarico was also someone who was just as great as all the other hosts. I hope he got contacted to have some involvement in the overall reboot.
