Nexuiz is a pretty bland game, but it was also free, so it's pretty good. I hope it gets a better art direction for the upcoming version, especially if they want to use CryEngine 3. I still think Warsow is the better free Quake-engine-based-multiplayer-game, but I can't imagine a console version of that (unless they replace bunny hopping with skates or something and just make Jet Set Radio with guns - wait, hold on, FUND IT).
Aftfer finding out that this was a guided experience, I kind of lost interest in the game. However, I've heard good things about it from people who have already bought it, even on the 3G (though appearently the framerate is nearly a flat 60 on the 3GS compared to more like 20-30 on the 3G).
While I never read the blog, I've heard Stephen as a guest on a lot of podcasts. He's a cool dude, and as a Kotaku reader (yes, other sites exist besides GB :p), it's pretty cool that he's joining their staff.
Ugh, the worst is on the big maps where people can spam frags over buildings into spawn areas and take out 2-4 people at the start of each round. And yes, I am often included in those people. :(
