I actively dislike Star Wars but when I started seeing footage of this game it really got me interested. It's on Origin Access, so I'll be playing it that way. I was hoping this QL would answer whether a non-fan of the series who has absorbed at least some knowledge of the lore over the years would still be into the story here. For $15, though, it's totally worth it even if I don't pay attention to what's going on and just whack dudes with my laser sword.

When I was in school you had two choices of milk, chocolate milk and white milk. We grew up saying "white milk" around here to distinguish from "chocolate milk." Now, milk in the house is just milk but when you're talking about milk at school you have to specify white milk or they'll give you the chocolate.

This is absolutely on my wishlist. I can't spend the money today, but if it goes on sale or if I just have some extra cash soon I definitely want to play it. Games like this and Hellblade have a special place for me. I feel like they often don't get the attention they deserve, but I'm glad they get made. It's not about killer gameplay or crazy boss fights, but about the story and the journey. Then top it off with great visuals, rather than the usual indie-level art styles that we usually get with this type of game. Not meant to be pejorative to indie games, just saying that it's always nice to see a polished AAA-level product take a chance with this sort of thing, especially as I get older and have less and less interest in runny-shooty gameplay.

I was a big defender of the first Rage, so I've been pretty excited for this game. I still want to play it, but after watching this I'm thinking I'll just wait for a good sale. If I can get it for $20-30 I'll jump on it, or if I just magically finish everything else in my backlog I'll pay more.

I really like the Mutant Smash TV or whatever it was called in the first game and I hoped they would expand upon it in this game... looks like they kinda just did the same thing again, though. I was hoping for multiple, interesting arenas or even procedural generation of some kind. That arena stuff just looked boring and very similar to the one in the first game.

I really hoped they would knock it out of the park with this one. Kind of a bummer. I see people saying playing on higher difficulty improves the game, but I don't believe that at all. As I get older, I don't necessarily want my games to be "harder". There are times where that is fine, but I actually prefer my shooters to be dumb and easy these days, but I still want them to be fun and crazy. This looks like none of the above.

Still, out of my love for the first game, I will eventually give this a go. Maybe I'll end up loving it? Not spending $60 right now, though, when I still have other stuff to play. Bummer.

@chumtoad: Yeah, I was thinking that when Jeff said the wingsticks weren't great. By the end of the first game, if you upgraded the wingsticks you almost didn't need anything else. IIRC the wingsticks eventually got upgraded to get homing headshots on multiple enemies and would almost never break. I think if they hit a wall or something they would lose durability or possibly break?

As a GB fan for many years, I've learned to listen to Jeff's opinions and know when they may not line up with my own. I'm really looking forward to getting this game soon. I understand his criticisms, but this game still looks like fun to me. I wish I had a spare $60 I felt okay spending on a game right now.

I was a fan of the first game. I'm pretty sure I'm going to like this one as well. Hopefully we get a GBE Playdate on this one soon. I think that'd be fun.

I picked this game up the other day. Really chill little thing to mess with while watching a video or whatever. For $5 it's totally worth it. I don't really strategize, I just kinda place stuff and make my little towns until I lose. Good times, noodle salad.

I also really appreciate the little video the dev made that you can see on the Steam store. They are straight up about what the game is (and what it isn't). It's what sold me on the game. I probably won't play a ton of it, but it's there for when I want to mess with something low-stress.

As someone from the New Orleans area (I live about 15 minutes out) I would like to send my appreciation for Rorie's mangling of those street names. Those are some of the easy ones... I'd love to hear him try to pronounce some of our other streets lol. Hint: They're not all pronounced the way you think they are.

If they ever get PSVR support, I'm in. I bought Dirt Rally and a racing wheel late last year and play every now and then. The wheel and PSVR is the only way to play for me, even if I'm terrible and drive slowly. It's still a blast. I play some Dirt 4 out of VR, and it's great, but not the same.

As for the co-driver sounding like he's tense, I'd swear he gets a little snippy when I drive poorly in Dirt Rally. Maybe it's in my head, but it sure seems like it.
