This was at the end of last years list but I hadn't played much. I beat the game and still want to keep playing. Considering this is the first Mario game I've completed since Super Mario, despite playing most of them, I'd say thats a big win for this game. Some things stood out to me that I wish were better: Mario runs too slow, Most of the music was bad, The 2d sections were amazing but the timing was off enough from real 2d Mario that it became annoying. Loved everything else.

This finally released on Android and I've been plugging away at it. I like the hint games better than the standard though.

Picked this up specifically due to hearing about it on the GOTY podcasts. Fuck this game, and not in a good way.

I wasn't as disappointed with the first game as everyone else seemed to be and expected to be into this one but man, what a bore. Almost every character is irritating to the point that I was really hoping id get some option to roll over on them and for much of the story just felt like they were just as bad as the 'bad guys'. The actual interaction with the world felt more limited than the first game. Every time I was entering a restricted area my options always felt less useful and certainly less fun than the first. I also find it weird that every minor infraction of the restricted zone gives the local security permission to murder people. I ended up liking the roller and drone and thought they were good additions.
