Games I played - 2016 Edition

A list of all the games I played in 2016.

List items

  • Bought this a long time ago just to see what the fuss was about. Maybe it was how much everyone badmouthed it that lowered my expectations but I really thought it played well and was a lot of fun. I went in expecting to be bored with a junk game that was nothing more than a curiosity of gaming history and give up an hour or two in, but ended up genuinely enjoying it.

  • I loved the feeling that I was learning a language of interfacing with the world with every new style of puzzle. Excellent game from top to bottom.

  • Burial at Sea 1&2. I love the first Bioshock. I loved Infinite although not quite as much. Getting the chance to play around in Rapture before the fall of its civilization was something I remember wishing for while playing the first game. These expansions really didn't make me feel like I was in Rapture again outside of some windows to look out of here and there which was a little disappointing. Didn't love these expansions, but still had an OK time.

  • This game is fantastic. I wish I didn't wait so long to play it.

  • Fun puzzle game but only really feels special when compared to other games on mobile.

  • One of my favorite games on NES!

  • Liked the music, unfortunately nothing else about this game did it for me.

  • I love the art style of this game. Plays well, still putting time into it.

  • I really like the way this story is told and how it manages to remain interesting. I don't know how many more of this style games I'd really be into though.

  • My only complaint is that I wish there was more of it. The banter, tone and visuals all made me feel a connection to the characters that is rare.

  • Despite being the right age when DOOM was new all those years ago, I never played any of the series. Going into this game with no nostalgia made me hesitant of how much I'd like it but this is easily one of the best games I've played this year. The exploration, combat, and upgrade systems had me instantly hooked. Maybe I should play the rest...

  • An amazing send off (maybe) to a series that I really love. I could not have asked for more.

  • After playing UC4, I decided to go back and replace the originals. Opposed to popular opinion, UC1 is a personal favorite and I still love playing it from time to time.

  • Played the remastered version of Bioshock 1 and was instantly brought back to one of my favorite games. Initially, I just wanted to see what it looked like with better textures but I was instantly sucked right back to Rapture and could not put it down.

  • Lots of good ideas, none of them done well. Couldn't make it past a few hours.

  • I liked Prototype and finally got around to playing the sequel. It wasn't great but overall I had a good time with it.

  • I was eager to play a campaign for this series after liking a lot of the first Titanfall. The campaign was ok but I don't get where the high praise is coming from. Very cool changes in the gameplay but the story was very lackluster. The movement felt good in TF1 but for some reason just felt annoying in this game. A few matches of multiplayer after finishing the campaign made me decide to eBay it.

  • This game is a good example of quantity over quality. A lot of little annoyances and extremely drawn out story added up to this being just a mediocre game for me.

  • I had this in my backlog forever and decided to finally give it a go. I wish I'd have played this sooner, its a crazy game. I had fun right to the end.

  • The last game of the year. While very different than Frog Fractions, I thought it was great in its own way.
