Boring? And still have the people he worked with still with him at the new studio?

Alright.

Strange statement to end on to be honest.

Some of the most successful people in human history are boring. If you're successful (and make money) you can have whatever people you want work for you. Does everyone like their boss? Sure it helps but it's not necessary if you are passionate about what you're working on.

Apparently the production or budget or something was troubled on that Robin Hood Disney movie, to the point that a handful of animation-intensive scenes of Little John are actually just recycled animation from the Jungle Book and one or two other movies. Baloo the bear and Little John are nearly the exact same character design aside from the clothing difference.

It's no secret, it's extremely common for animation studios to reuse animation cells and keyframes. Just think of the amount of times characters walk the same way in every episode of those Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

But yes, Robin Hood came at a time when Disney weren't in a good place and they made it very cheaply compared to their other works due to their financial struggles with their attempts at live action films targeted to a more teenage market. It wasn't until Who Framed Roger Rabbit that they got it right and went on to have their string of 90s hits that put them back on top like they had been in the 40s and 50s.

@redking56: But if your grievance amounts to that there should be some justification for a minority character existing in a world, that a character like that can`t just exist without some elaborate backstory like every other character, that`s a not a valid criticism in my book. If we then go on to discuss the character her or himself, that`s another thing entirely. A trans character can be a well written or badly written character like any other, and a stereotypical character just like a black character who is the street smart or gangster character is a very stereotypical character. Let`s discuss that. But what I`m arguing against is the notion that you somehow need to justify a character existing in a world when that character is not the default color or sex.

I'm with you on this, a character's sexuality can be whatever in completely fictional fantasy world and needs no justification (although it would make it a deeper, more meaningful fiction if it were).

But who says what someone's grievances "amount to"? To me it feels like generalizing it and saying whoever is critical of the decision must be transphobic. It sets a precedent that you can not be critical of trans characters. As I pointed out earlier there have been trans characters before but they haven't caused as much of a ruckus.

I'm just airing the point, if you disagree that's fine because I agree with you n what you're saying, but I feel there's an atmosphere "Oh you have issue with this? Then that must mean you're ______" guilt by association that is way too prevalent in discussions like this.

@biostormx: I mean, it's weird to be this upset about a trans character existing regardless of the reason. There's probably badly written straight characters in that game too, but just because it's a trans character that character suddenly has to have a big purpose, be really well written etc. It strikes me as mostly strawman arguments from people who are pissed off that they included a trans character but don't want to come out and say it. You see the same sort of arguments when other minority characters are included in games. Just adding a trans character isn't a political act, especially not something that should get a game downrated to hell and back with user reviews on various platforms.

I expect this comment section to go well btw :p

This issue goes both ways though, criticism from some groups has been leveled at other games for the inclusion of trans characters. Erica Anderson from Catherine and Poison from the Final Fight series being some "mainstream" examples but they are generally liked by the too impossibly large to pigeon hole "gaming community".
But they still get aggro from people who would suggest they are "bad" depictions or not representative. It's a fallacy to say that their grievances are okay but some other people's are not.

The Xbox360 being responsible for FFXIII's linear design is one of the wackier theories I've heard.

Pretty wacky when it's very clear that Square are just reactionary when it comes to their design choices even as far back as VIII. On XII they didn't get much support for the open world design so they changed it back to the X linear path although without the ability to backtrack, when they got the backlash for this they made XIII-2 which had some diverging paths. Their decisions are so transparent and reactionary that it looks so ridiculous when something else is suggested.

For the amount of shit Danny gives F1 and other motorsports, accusing them of not being safety conscious or being neglectful, it was pretty satisfying hearing him try to worm his way out of not giving any credit to the sport for making it possible for Alonso to still be alive and just saying it was "amazing".

@belowstupid: Yeah I'm sure Sony are whiping away the tears with dollar bills right now. Someone should stop these cyberbullies.

Seriously they didn't even "talk shit" about anything in this video, just commented on things at that time and what is different now. They even played down the meme stuff that came out of this as overblown.
