Has this been validated? haven't seen it reported

hope to god its true though; i find it hard to believe they would throw out a tease that easily for one of the most anticipated games

it would have to happen soon, a lot of companies are showing new tech and half life 3 showcasing the new source engine sounds appropriate

i don't really mind what it is as long as there is some news, i know they said they didn't want to drop rumours and news about upcoming releases because it takes them so long and people build it up so much but the wait without any knowledge is even worse

gaben'll probably just get up on stage and say ''we're working on half life 3'' and walk off again

I don't really like Alex's style of writing; i hate even mentioning it, he seems to get a lot of bad press in the forums.

I don't know him so i can't say much about him as a person but the articles just come off as if a 15 year old wrote them, theres a fine line you can walk before a blasé, jovial disinterest or lack of surprise when an obvious sequel gets leaked or nintendo announces a mario game, becomes an assholes opinion on stuff he should be reporting, not commenting on

for the record, i think patrick's style is good, there a light hearted acknowledgment of a lot of these behaviours in the industry and straight reportage

its just a matter of preference i guess, just different methods of writing

batman arkham city; its a totally different game from the first one; the first one is up there with some of the best games in terms of gameplay and atmosphere, the only weak portion was the story, and even then it was alright, would've made a good half hour cartoon but not an 8 hour game

the only thing i was hoping for with the new one was a better story and i just thought it sucked; and because that was mostly what i was interested in the way the game revealed itself was really poor; it was like a half assed open world game; the pacing was terrible and the ending was one of the worst things i've ever seen in a game or any batman media - just killing everyone in sight; saying that the boss fights were alright, but they were as good as the first

i haven't had many disappointments this generation; you can always find something to like, but i just can't get on board with B:AC, so much of it is still great, but so much of what they promised failed to live up to it, i wasn't aware of the hype surrounding the first one but the hype just ruined this one for me

another would have been assassins creed brotherhood; just completed it, bought it over a year ago and played it for 5 hours and put it down, couldn't play it, again felt completely different and i though AC2 was one of the best games i've played; i don't mind it, it obviously isn't as good but it pretty good the story is ok but the pacings a bit off

red dead is another, i had heard a lot about it, and as i've mentioned story is the main thing i like, and for some reason the usual paradox of rockstar game - like GTA4 where the protagonist in the cutscenes says he hates killing then goes an kills a 100 people in 5 minutes just annoyed me so much; gta4 is ridiculous in so many ways so its very easy to suspend disbelief, but RDR plays it so serious i thought it didn't make sense for him to be passed around everyone and still claim finding his family was urgent, the ending helped though, at least they did that right

i'll probably revisit RDR and B:AC in a couple years and find them to be masterpieces but at the minute they're probably the biggest disappointments

the USA trilogy by John Dos Passos is far and away my favourite novel, i hate to categorise anything but that is my absolute favourite

another would be Burning Daylight by Jack London, recently read and would recommend;

Once & Future King by T H White / Sherlock Holmes stories by A C Doyle / Dudley Smith Trilogy by Ellroy / Possibility of an Island by Michel Houellebecq

and if you get tired of narrative stuff, i've been reading emil cioran recently, he's pretty funny

if you enjoy science fiction things and a healthy dose of existential BS try possibility of an island

Don't tend to replay games, though there are some i want to replay but never get to with time constraints

i have played half life 2 six or seven times now; just finished it recently but this time on the computer, before they were all on 360

and thats basically it, replayed resi 4 a couple times, MGS2 a couple times, arkham asylum a couple times

want to play through GTA4 again, AC2 again and going to replay the entire metal gear saga in the summer

Jagger; not a great singer but i enjoy the pronounciation

others would be

Alison Mosshart from the Kills

Neil Young

and i actually really like Dylan's voice

Iggy Pop has a great low register, and Johnny Cash;

also Prince for range

Last big one i remember was Skyrim in november; impulse because i thought it looked cool but had never played an ES game before and the only real RPG i played before was Mass Effect.

Also bought prey for a couple pounds; its alright.

And just received an impulse buy in the form of MGS Ultimate HD collection but it was impulsive a year ago; still great though
