@kyodra: no it's not that one, i don't think it is turn based and the combat was general rts, right click to attack and they just swing till there dead.

I just remembered that there were also spell asters and other things you could get that had powers, like a flying goblin craft or something.

It was definite a rts game with building and resource management.

Also one of the mages cast like a poison cloud on the terrain as an ability.

Also thanks very much for replying :)

Hi everyone hopefully someone can help me.

Ok it was a PC game I'm not sure when it came out but I played it around 2000-2006. I have looked for ages for the game but couldn't find it, it is a rts-like game with dated graphics, very similar to Warcraft 3.

From looking through images some of the buildings from Warcraft 3 look similar but that may just be me mixing some things up.

Ok so basically you had a level set out with chests and loads of different monsters, one thing that stood out was that there was a level editor and you could put down different tiers of the same monster, they would be different in colour to show tier.

I can't remember if it was only an rpg overhead or a rts, I think it was a rpg like though.

One other thing I remember is that in one of the first few levels you start out as just a knight in the middle of a forest. Also there were cheats that you could use to reveal the map.

Asks any questions you want I'll try to answer. Thanks!

[EDIT]:I just realised the buildings in the game warlord battlecry 3 are so incredibly familiar, but its not that game.
