Recommendations for these listed genres?

Yeah it’s another blog about me asking the Giantbomb community about some games that are worth playing or not. I write these blogs because quite frankly, what I know about the gaming industry is outdated. I haven’t being track of the latest gaming industry since the beginning of 2011. There is a reason why that happened. I got distracted by the comics, school, life, but mostly dealing with some betrayal with some friends. The ladder kept me distracted for a while and some things that I liked to do on my free time started to lose my interest. Unfortunately, the part of me that played video games for fun started to lose my interest. That part of me eventually returned when I played Mortal Kombat (2011) and since then I’ve been trying to keep up on the latest on gaming. Sadly, school had taken up a lot more of my time then I wanted to so I had to focus on that. Now that I’m done with school for the time being, I want to do some catching up.

I know a ton of good games have been released within recent years and I want to know which games are worth playing in certain genres. Here’s what I mean. I like fighting games and I know there have been a number of good fighting games like Mortal Kombat (2011), Street Fighter 4, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl that are worth playing. So I’m hoping that the Giantbomb community can give me some kind of idea on what’s good and bad in the following genres.

  1. Action
  2. Action-Adventure
  3. Role Playing Games
  4. Stealth
  5. Shooters
  6. Platformers
  7. Hack and Slash
  8. Beat’em Up
  9. Fighting Games
  10. Racing
  11. Sand-box or Open World Games, whatever you prefer to call it.

I know that I’m asking a lot with this and my previous Final Fantasy Blog but any input would be greatly appreciated.

Final Fantasy Recommendations

Final Fantasy is probably one of the biggest video game franchises in the gaming industry due to having a large number of games being released over the years. Some of these games are good, some are bad and the others can go either way. For the past few months, I have been playing a few Final Fantasy games that I have come to like. The Final Fantasy games that I have played so far have been Final Fantasy IV Advance, Final Fantasy V Advance, and Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360. I’ve grown to like these games because of the plot, game play and the characters some of the characters that are in the game that I’ve grown to like due to their personality, character development, and how they do in battle. I even found a few villains that I’ve grown to like because of their goals, their actions in the game, and how different these villains are, like Golbez and Exdeath. So here is what I want to know. Aside from 4, 5, and 13, what other Final Fantasy games are worth playing. I want to know which main games, spin-offs, remakes, and sequels are worth playing. If anyone can leave a recommendation in the comments, I would appreciate it.

The Berry Glitch from Gen III Pokemon, How to fix it?

A while ago, I started playing my copy of Pokemon Ruby when something bizzare happened. A message saying "The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur."

I am still able to play the game but there are some in game events tha occur due to the time aren't working not because of this glitch. I looked up online on how to fix the problem and so far nothing has worked. So far I tried the Jirachi transfer from the bonus disc from Pokemon Colosseum and the Leafgreen Patch.

When Jirachi is transferred from the bonus disc to either Ruby or Sapphire, the berry program is updated. The thing is I downloaded Jirachi a long time ago before this glitch occured. I try to redownload but the disc won't let me.

I recently tried the Leafgreen patch but it says its unable to download the patch.

Are there any other rays to resolve this glitch?? If so, please tell me. I really want to be able to turn on the game and this message not to be there.

HD Collections & Games on Multiple Consoles

Edit: This Blog has been revised. I hope everyone will have an easier time reading this blog.

There have been some games I wanted to play when I was younger but couldn’t since I didn’t have much money. Now that I’m older and have some money, I have been looking for the games I wanted to play but couldn’t afford. Some the games I'm currently looking for are on some old systems like the GameCube and Game boy Advance. The games I’m looking for are the following: Prince of Persia, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, a couple of Mega Man games, some Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid games and a few others that I can't remember at this point of time. Some of these games are currently being rereleased onto the current consoles. Is it better to buy the game when it’s rereleased such as The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Trilogy or find the game when they were on one of the older consoles like the Sands of Time Trilogy for the GameCube?

One more question just came to me. If you have a 360 and a PS3 and a game that catches your interest are released, which console you buy it on?

Fighting Games

There is a lot of fighting game series and franchises out there. Some are good. Some are bad. Some are in the middle. I want to know which fighting games are worth playing, weather just one game in the series is good or if the entire series is worth playing.

Games like: Tekken, Super Smash Bros., Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs. Capcom, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive.

Good games based of Anime

I noticed that in vodeo games, a ton of games are based of anime and some of them are good while others can use some work.

So is there any good games that are based off the anime? & Do they make to much games based off them like Dragon Ball Z having like a million games or Naruto for that matter.

Still I am curious to know what games are good that are based on anime like Bleach, DBZ, Naruto, etc.

Mortal Kombat (2011) Endings

In Mortal Kombat (2011), the arcade endings seem to indicate some kind of weird twisted future for Mortal Kombat. Like Liu Kang becoming a tryannical god, or Shang Tsung becoming a hero, Cyber Sub-Zero becomes a combination of Cyber Sub-Zero & Shao Khan.

I've seen at least half these endings but when I unlock some of them, they come with no subtitles or usually I can't hear the ending like the audio is missing. Is it because my account not being gold? Or is it because I beat it under tag team arcade? Has anyone else encounter this problem? & if they have, did they fix it somehow? Please let me know!

Good Sonic Games

Yes, I know this seems like a shock. But I'm wondering, has Sonic the Hedgehog have any good games worth playing?

I've only played a couple of Sonic games and they can use some work, but I want to play the games that are worth playing.

I've played Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Riders. Sonic Heroes was ok, the other two could use some work. Shadow the Hedgehog really can use some work.

So if anyone can please recommend some good games please I appreciate it. It can be on the handhelds or the consoles.
