Nah, it looks like a feast for the eyes and that demo was impressive. The combat didn't look like shit and it was also an introduction to the new enemies and weapons. Most likely the combat encounters will become a little more complex. You gloss over the new enemies and guns as if they're nothing at all. That's huge man. The enemies and the tools we're using to kill them have been well crafted; they look and sound awesome. That's a huge part of the game. It's important.

Alright, so they didn't make drastic changes like making the game open world or something. Yes, it's an established franchise and obviously a smart investment for Microsoft or as you would say a cash cow. Cash Cows are only offensive when the game is just shit out. The demo showed that 343i obviously cares about the universe. Some of things shown like the drones that threw back grenades are straight out of the novels and are amazing to see fully realized in the game. The fact that the game takes place on a Shield World alone is intriguing as hell. I'm not opposed to them taking risks but I think they made smart decisions when it comes to carrying the series forward at this point.

Also, the whole Infinity multiplayer set-up; War Games and Spartan Ops seems well thought out and well crafted. The whole package just seems like it's being made by talented devs who love Halo as much as the fans.

I'm a fan of the universe and of the games but if this sequel didn't look good I wouldn't kid myself and I wouldn't defend it. I think you're being cynical and I think you're wrong. Opinions, blah blah, I know. You're wrong. heh

Being released during E3 instead of any other time of the year... good sign.

I thought InFamous 2 was pretty good.

Yeah, Infamous 2 was great and I think it actually sold pretty well. Inversion is a new property so it doesn't have the same awareness though I guess. I doubt it will have the same success.

Easily, the freshest and most exciting thing shown at E3 so far. Watch Dogs probably just stole the whole show.

also are those enemies the same as in ghosts of onyx?

Well the flying drones definitely are eh. I noticed them right away. They look exactly like they were described in Ghosts of Onyx. Attention to detail / staying true to the universe's fiction. 343i continues to impress me. They're on another shield world which is what Onyx was so it's all Forerunner tech defense AI.

Yeah, it's more Halo(obviously!) and that's a good thing. If you can't understand why people are excited by this then you're probably not a fan of Halo. Pretty simple.

I'm freaking pumped for this game. 343i really continues to show me that they're not just crapping out another Halo. They're truly putting effort into developing the universe and seem to be putting together one hell of a package. Loved the demo today and still I'm champing at the bit for more info. Yeah, it's familiar; it's Halo. They're definitely carrying the series forward well, though.

No, not really so far.

I really like the armor in the pic you posted in this thread but some of the other armor I've seen from the pre-order bonus stuff didn't exactly do it for me.

Man, those Spartan 4s are looking awesome.

I hope there is a tonne of armor to unlock and customize with. I've spent way too much time in the Spartan armor menu in Reach heh. I just love Halo's aesthetic. It just nails the space marine thing perfectly. I shouldn't let my expectations get too high but I'm really pumped for Halo 4.

Hoping for a great campaign and a fine tuning of the mulitplayer suite. Reach's online was multiplayer bliss for me. I always have fun. From what they've shown it looks like they're improving it for 4 in all the ways I hoped they would. There will be so many different ways to play it's gonna be sick.

I put a couple hundred hours into Reach and I can easily see myself doing the same with 4. Don't let me down 343!
