@big_jon: I've listened to this sample a few times now and it's really growing on me.

I'm right there with you on the Halo 2 and Reach soundtracks. Some of my faves. I dunno about you but I'd also have to add ODST to the mix. The game and the soundtrack were a departure, at least the solitary sections in New Mombasa, and I really enjoyed it. The scores for video games in general have been getting steadily better over the years. I guess, it's because the audience has gotten larger and of course there is more money so top tier composers are willing to get involved.

I know these samples aren't brand new but I just stumbled across them and thought they sounded pretty good. Halo's original soundtrack by Marty O'Donnell is quite famous. Even gamers who aren't Halo fans no the Halo music when they hear it. I don't doubt that Halo 4's will be good but I wonder if they'll be able to create a soundtrack that is as memorable as Marty's.

Any Bungie fan would know that they've been on a campaign of world domination for a long time now and this game might finally get them there.

An FPSMMO seems like a mighty hard game to make though. I'm very intrigued to see what they've designed both universe and gameplay wise. Let's hope they crank out something awesome and that people actually buy into it because by the looks of that contract if they don't Activision is gonna leave them out in the cold.

Well, I certainly like the look of the world. Looks like they're continuing with the art style they've established in Reckoning. Interested in seeing more of the game.

I don't think it would work, especially, for more popular games that people love to hate ie. CoD or Halo. There would be lots of fanboys with immediate 5/5 and lots of haters who never played the game to give 0/5. Also, some people just have it in for certain publishers and developers. So, I think a lot of scores would be about the bullshit surrounding the game rather than the actual game itself.

I think it's kind of pointless anyway since it's all just opinion and it wouldn't matter to me whatever the user score ended up being. I honestly don't even really care what the editorial score ends up being. Sometimes it's interesting to read reviews after I've played a game and formulated my own opinion to see what other people took from the experience. Especially, since video game reviews are becoming more akin to movie criticism than product buyers guides.

Just to be clear, I think this is a really sweet thing for her to do for her boyfriend. It's great that she supports what he's into. It's just that Night Vests really jumped out at me.
