@shtinky: Comparing created things and critique of said things to living people whose lives are impacted by factors outside of their control is not a good example of even hypocrisy, let alone irony.
I'm waiting for the video, but based on the deck, it looks like with Alex no longer there to state his disdain for bathroom talk it has been allowed to roam free once again. Bring it on!
@headsci: I agree with you overall, but just wanted to point out: Tamoor isn't freelance. He has a full time job with GameSpot so I don't think his insurance plans have anything to do with GB.
Edit: someone best me to it. But yeah, let's not make this something that it isn't. That doesn't do anyone any good.
@mach_go_go_go: You are certainly not wrong that intimidation is important, but that changes nothing for me. Personally someone with a bat doesn't scare me at all, but I think someone with a knife could kill me (sadly, I have experienced the latter first hand).
An important looked over part of all of this I think is that the original email was stating it was an aluminum bat which is like...no discussion to be had anymore. No one is winning against a knife with a bat designed to CUSHION THE BLOW.
I don't like how emotionally invested I get into this, but ask anyone with any kind of combat experience, and they will take their chances against a bat over a knife any day. People accidentally kill themselves with knives. They're really, really, unbelievably, shockingly devastating for how simple and small they are.
This is what I never understood about that original debate. So much credit was given to the reach of the bat, but really the only place that you're in danger of being put down or killed with a bat strike is a perfect shot to the head (provided we're not going up against some professional baseball player or Casey Jones here). I always felt like Jeff G had it right: for a knife all you have to do is rush the person and start going nuts. Logistically speaking as well (and this is a very dark thing to say), there's a reason why more people are killed by stabbings than by blunt objects. And I'd wager most statistics about blunt object deaths are largely by something like a hammer rather than a baseball bat.
I too don't know why I'm so emotionally invested in such a stupid yet dark topic.
Jeff pronouncing 'whilst' as 'will-st' (instead of 'while-st').. is that an American thing, or just a Jeff thing..?
I don't know if it's *just* a Jeff thing, but it's definitely not an American thing. This was the first time I've ever heard it pronounced "will-st" by an American.
Love how the terrorist sympathizer and enabler mods are deleting anything that goes against the truth and their feelings. No wonder this site is rapidly falling apart. Go woke go broke.
You seem like a very cool dude that definitely doesn't listen to the Quartering.
