Down with Early Access... Quality is an important part of software, why the hell would I want to use software without it?

For the past few years I have had a keen sense on what games to buy. This is probably my lengthy history of game research and love of GB. I have had good feelings about the Souls games, Fallout and even Borderlands. Purchased them without even glimpsing at a review. Now this game is coming and I do not have that same sense about it...maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like it wont be all that great.

What do you think?

Do you have that same "sixth game sense"?

You know what you like. If you're not feeling it, don't buy it. Good call. Better not waste money.

I try to avoid purchasing sequels to games I love if I've lost interest. (eg. loved Arkham Asylum, don't even have the slightest interest in Arkham City, ditto for Rock Band 2 vs Rock Band 3/Blitz)

At this point I just want snappy and reliable over whiz-bang.

This.

My wife has an iPhone 4S and it's completely functional.

I had been doing a ton of research about which phone to get and had originally ruled out iPhones because I already have an iOS device (4th gen touch) and figured I should open myself up to another ecosystem.

After a bunch of research I realized that Apple is the only platform that isn't fragmented and keeps their previous devices up-to-date in terms of software.

Thus, I'll just get an iPhone 5 (even if there's nothing exciting about the new features).

Looks like it's aimed to directly compete with the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7. If they can sell that thing for under 300 bucks it will make a killing.

To which then, the next iteration of the iPod Touch better be well under that price.

Do you think there will be a next iteration of the iPod Touch? I'm skeptical. Last iteration they upgraded iPhones' hardware but updated the iPod Touch's... colour.

I've been eagerly anticipating this.

I've hooked my laptop up to my TV for a while now. I'm excited that I can stop squinting.

1. Yes (though USB will be slower than HDD). You do have to format it with the Xbox.

2. Probably not. (Coming from someone who has paid for Gold since Gears 1 came out.)

5. Purchases are tied to the account you purchased from + the console so anyone using the same console should be able to use purchased content. I'm not sure if purchasing and downloading it to the USB stick is different from the HDD in terms of how it determines your console. If your console dies for some reason, you'll lose the console association - there is a process to fix this that can be used once per year and requires you to redownload content.

Now that I own my own house, I want less stuff. I don't want clutter.

I agree that it sucks that publishers will charge you the same amount for a boxed AAA PC product with physical media and the digital equivalent.

However, I'd accept DRM if I get a lower price and convenience in return. With Steam, I do. With XBLA, I do. In fact, I get so much of a better deal with digital that I generally don't even buy AAA boxed console games anymore.

There's not nearly enough context (re: original post) to know if it warrants outrage.

I don't like the idea of a mother smoking around her kid.

I keep my daughter far away from anyone who is smoking.

You can't know if this was a one-time deal for the mother or if it's a habit to smoke in front of the kid. Maybe she desperately needed a cigarette that one time. Parenting is stressful and you can't be perfect about everything all the time.

If it's a regular thing, it's really bad. My wife suffered a lot through her childhood having to live with an in-house smoker. I suspect the original poster wanted immediate validation for their outrage, but context is important.

I go through phases.

Sometimes I want the no-nonsense experience of a console

i.e. don't worry about performance, installation, hooking up my PC to my TV, sitting on a couch while playing

There's something to be said for a dedicated appliance for a task. (...though I will concede that Microsoft ruining the "dedicated" nature of the appliance is pushing me more to my PC.)
