Well as I stated yesterday with great delight my PS3 arrived back here and was working well. Today however it has developed a very serious problem. Something has gone majorly wrong inside on the hardware front, when I turn on my PS3 sometimes it totally freezes up on the XMB other times it works but then the screen starts to get weird pixelations on it usually green dots and squares. The screen rapidly fills with this mess and then it totally locks out and wont even turn off.
So I sent it back with a minor fault, the blu-ray laser wasn't working right and I got it returned with a major one. Sony said reformat the HD it sounds like it's corrupted so I tried that and guess what it crashed almost straight away and wont format at all. In response Sony are sending me a brand spanking new shiny 80GB model to replace this 60GB. As they don't make the 60GB's anymore I am having to take a hit, no backwards compatibility only 2 USB sockets and none of the other card reader sockets either. In fairness though I am willing to take that hit for the extra 20GB HD space, I dont play PS2 or PS1 games on my PS3 anyway so no loss there but even so it's a pain in the rear because they can't get the new one out to me until next Thursday.....
I am so happy right now my PS3 is back in it's rightful place currently downloading the recent update and I can finally get back to the task of serious gaming!!!! Not much else to say right now I just had to post this blog :D On the other hand though the repair was damn fast, they got it Monday morning, dispatched it yesterday and now back here. Sony FTW!

There are probably a few missing from that list that I simply can't recall at the moment but as it stands those are my most anticipated games we have heard about so far.
The time has come once again when upgrading another part of my PC has become possible, after buying my new PC a few months ago my video capture box simply isn't good enough compared to the rest of the PC. Ontop of that it really doesn't like Vista too much at all but then again it was only a cheap one I found on Ebay. It has done the job for quite a while and my videos can be found on my YouTube page Here!
I am thinking about getting a Dazzle Video Creator Platinum which cuts out all of the TV tuner stuff which I dont need or use and is dedicated to recording and displaying only composite RCA / S-Video feeds and has full hardware MPEG 1/2/4 compression so I wont get poor quality or lose frames because the PC is getting bogged down by the huge data files that capturing makes. Also for those who don't know yet you can get the Dazzle to function perfectly on Vista but ONLY 32-Bit, 64-Bit at the moment will only accept HD capture cards so be careful if your looking for one yourself.
Just over 1 year of faithful service and one week after my warrenty expires my PS3 finally decides to break. Thankfully the wonderful people at Sony UK have taken away my black box and are repairing it for free anyway which is pretty awesome. The issue is an easy fix the Blu-Ray laser in my drive has decided it doesn't like to fire anymore and it needs replacing and when I take into consideration that I use my PS3 daily and also that by this timeframe when I was using my Xbox 360 alot I was on my 3rd one! Then in the big picture it's really not that bad at all.
I just hope they get it back to me a damn sight faster than Microsoft did, they have told me it will be no longer than 10 working days but also to expect it back way before that time as the fix is quick. So fingers crossed here :D
I got this game yesterday and after playing many MMO's over the years I have to say this one is the best online world I have played in. The mature aspects of the game just add so much, knowing this game is for 18+ only and being able to show seriously gory violent fight sequences and have contexted language where you feel it would be more appropriate. For example in EQ2 if someone has had a family member kidnapped they just say that, in AoC they show true emotion and often swear about it which adds alot of depth and feel to what your actually doing for them in the quest.
I could carry on talking about this awesome game for hours but I will spare you from that. I will say this though if you get a chance you seriously do have to play this game!
