I’m a huge Godzilla fan and can’t believe Save the Earth got a full 9 points lower than Destroy All Monsters Melee. Sure it was basically an expansion pack but it had several more unique monsters and charmingly goofy minigames like shooting boulders into hoops. It was the better game in the series; I don’t know why it was so much less popular
I wonder at what stage they even planned to pull the game from the stores because going in to the beta their creative team indicated the beta was more of a soft launch, hoping to roll it into a full release after a couple of preseasons.
I think the biggest problem with the game might have been the surprisingly limited roster despite what they promised or insinuated early on, especially with the roster leaks of bigger IPs. Instead we got Rick and Morty, a couple Gremlins, and then Marvin the Martian. It didn't help that the creative director Tony Hyunh would retweet any and all fan suggestions for characters, and I think not including any of those suggestions immediately soured a lot of different fanbases all at once.
@efesell: Holocure is really cool all the character's unique weapons and skills make them feel much more distinct. Plus 20 minute runs are just sometimes more palatable. I wish there was more music variety but all in all it's a great change of pace.
playing with 1 cost cards, Ka-zar, Blue Marvel, and Onslaught has done pretty well for me so far but I'm sure that will change once killmonger starts showing up more. You can add a few heavy hitters in there as well if rng isn't on your side, especially if they benefit from full lanes like Wolfsbane. I tried a couple movement/discard themed decks but I just don't have the deck variety down for those yet.
@lyndbako: Didn’t Barbados just officially declare itself free of Royal Rule back in like November and it just sort of happened without fuss? I figure it will just be like that.
I had a friend of mine who was a streamer swap to Vtubing because of a few unflattering comments and the unspoken demand to clean up for the camera became exhausting. Since the move not only has she gotten viewers (and can sustainably create full time) but she has also gotten more opportunities to create and collaborate with people she could only dream of before, and all working independently. I've always been skeptical of the industry idol side of VTubing but the benefits compared to regular streaming aren't to be discounted.
I wish there was at least a bare bones starting roster instead of this rotating nonsense, and I wish there was a little more level variety but otherwise I enjoy it a lot. I'm glad they're going for unconventional fighters as well.
