@tophar01: Ellie sets out on a mission for revenge, in doing so she is clearly affected by the atrocities that she has committed and once on the farm, seems to give an honest shot at a "normal" life. Because of PTSD, she can't sleep, barely eats and can't stop seeing Joel get killed. She realizes until she takes care of Abby she will never get closure, and despite the cost, heads out again. In the final fight scene we get a flash of the porch, just before Ellie decides not to kill Abby. What we find out is that she is remembering the last thing she ever said to Joel before he died. "I don't think I can ever forgive you, but I would like to try." This is the first time since she left Seattle that she flashed back to a moment with Joel that was not him being killed. Despite all the pain, she finally want's to try to forgive.

@nodima:

The dog petting and the option to play fetch was a silly way of trying to give the attack dogs the same empathetic treatment as Abby (especially since the first dog, Bear, seemed to share a name with at least 5 other dogs in their regiment) since dogs that ruthless are probably not going to be a good hang, but I get why Naughty Dog included it.

You are hugely discounting how well a dog can be trained. Watch police dog training videos. Dogs do very well with "on the job" and "off the job" behaviors. Playing with the dog didn't bother me because it was just another look into the fact that these were different people with different motivations, not just monsters.

On a whim I purchased Katana Zero on Switch since it's on sale. Holy crap I enjoyed this game. It's pretty challenging at spots but is incredibly satisfying when you finish an area. Later in the game it almost becomes a reflex puzzle game. The story is compelling and told in a super interesting way (my recommendation would be to go in blind on this one). I chewed through my first run last night and throughout today (I would guess it took me 3-5 hours). After beating it you unlock hard mode and speedrun mode. I definitely see myself going through this game again. I'm still going back through parts of the game because there are a few unlockables that open up when you beat the game as well.

To anyone interested I did double check the giant bomb quick look and Ben picked an early and spoiler safe portion of the game. https://www.giantbomb.com/shows/katana-zero/2970-18980

Looking forward to the series! Enjoy.

Escape From Boo-York - 30 second or so speed run level that had about a 3% clear rate before I murdered and resurrected it to add that sweet sweet GB.

Made a new speedrun level. It's all about speed and switches. There are plenty of Boos about but they shouldn't bother you if you keep moving.

G50-WX1-QXG - A doable (yet hopefully challenging) level involving On/Off Switches, Seesaws, and Snake Blocks, in a ghost house because it's scary or something.

Just finished this level. About halfway through I was thinking, "this is pretty easy but really well thought out." After finishing I would say that the whole level was really well planned and has a decent ramp up in challenge. The times I died weren't due to cheap surprises or any sort of trolling, it was pretty much just me screwing up. Solid level my dude.

Just finished a 20 second challenge run level. Don't stop moving and it shouldn't be too hard once you learn the level layout.

I made a super meatboy/celeste style level to see how well it would translate. Not super long but hopefully a fun challenge!
