Okay duders, there is a redux version on my soundcloud here. (if anyone knows how to embed soundcloud players into this forum then I'd like to know!)

I took out the repeat so it now clocks in at a much more reasonable 28 seconds (the bombcast theme is around 29) and I added some, albeit quiet, truck horns into the mix as well.

In terms of the beeps, it was my understanding that the beeps are a reference to a dumptruck backing up, as in the "don't stay behind this vehicle or you will be killed" kind of beeps rather than "get out of the way of the front of this vehicle or you will be killed" beeps. They are kinda short as I wanted them to fit musically, so maybe that kills the dumptruck authenticity somewhat >_< but I assure you they are taken from a recording of an actual, real life dumptruck.

Thanks to everyone who has listened and said nice things. If anyone has any suggestions for other GB-related tunes I could make then let me know. I'm determined to get something used!

@itsajackal: I'm assuming you mean no-one from the crew? I know that someone tweeted it to Ryan fairly shortly after it was posted (and thanks for that whoever you are!) and he RT'ed it so he's at least seen it. Also, I sent the Dumptruck theme I made to Patrick recently and he took the time to comment on it at least. So I would say they do engage with the community to an extent, but maybe not to the point of trawling through the site for content, which I probably wouldn't expect anyway.

This post is also on the community spotlight so it's certainly had its due. While it would be awesome to hear it, or at least some reference to it on the podcast or in a video I'm sure all the icky licensing issues would become a major consideration. Or youknow, maybe they just don't think its that cool...

To be honest, the overwhelmingly positive response I've had from the community from this is more than enough to make me happy!

There is actually, just tried it out and I could easily cut it down to 27 seconds by taking out the repeat and it flows just fine. But if its longer then theres more beeps; and beeps are where it's at. Also, in the format it seems like Patrick talks over the intro music whilst he's introducing the piece, so maybe longer fits better.

Hey everyone =)

I'm at it again with another theme song!

Since the Dumptruck theme has been a long time coming, I thought I would step in and try my own version. I know @patrickklepek was after something similar to the Home Improvement theme, so I added flutes and cheesy guitar and the likes. Then I added genuine dumptruck percussion, along with the absolutely essential......BEEP BEEP.

Let me know what you guys think, this time I haven't used any copyrighted material and there isn't an existing theme so maybe this one can be used for real?

Yeah its by APM music who do music licensing. The track is called "Bad Bad Man". I imagine royalty costs might get expensive if they charged on a per use basis. If the bomb crew were so inclined there is a chance this could be used provided the costs weren't astronomical and APM would allow the track to be modified as I have done.

Ooooh crits! I had toyed with the idea of using a dirtier synth for the Bombcast melody, but I wanted to give it that mid-nineties hip hop vibe so I gave it more of a "Gin and Juice" sound. I wanted it to stick out a little so you could pick it out as "hey that's the bombcast theme" rather than it blending in with the rest of the mix.

Dear Diary: Today I gave someone an internet erection, and that's super cool.

I used FL Studio for the initial composition and synths for the bombcast theme (and a bit of the saints row stuff like the drums). Then mixed the original Saints Row track in and mastered the whole thing using Reaper. Made the vid with After Effects.
