Nintendo "won" E3 if you really like Nintendo games and wanted to see more of them.

Nintendo was completely irrelevant at E3 if you aren't in that camp.

Came here to post this. I know you probably want to promote it with a Microsoft-published game and all, but in the midst of constant "Halo HD Remasters"-to-PC rumours, not the smartest move to make.

Not the biggest Halo fan by any stretch, but if a Trilogy set came out on PC, or some sort of anthology that also included ODST and Reach, for a reasonable price (~€40), I'd snap that up. Wouldn't expect Halo 4 to be part of that, but you'd never know.

Yeah, I mean I was just wanting the already existing PC versions to be released digitally (same with Gears of War), but ports of Halo 3 and 4 would be nice to have as well. I found the games disappointing but would play them again on PC with a mouse for sure.

Some Ubisoft guy made some comments in an interview not long ago about how you don't need to optimize on PC that much because you can just require higher hardware. He quickly tried to say he meant something else but it's pretty obvious developers push stuff out without as much optimizing because most PC gamers upgrade every few years.

If Watch Dogs runs on an Xbox 360 at 30fps it should run on 8 year old PC hardware, but it doesn't, because they don't want to bother.

That picture really makes me wish they'd re-release Halo and Halo 2 on Steam or another digital store. I sold all my discs forever ago.

Anyway... I'll replace my Xbox 360 pad with an Xbox One pad when I find one for a decent price. It's the best PC gamepad to have because it works with everything without configuration. I barely ever use it, but every once in a while you need it.

Breaking up the core Jeff/Vinny/Brad group seems like a really bad idea to me on the surface, but I guess we'll just see how things go. Sounds like Vinny was leaving either way, so New York Vinny is better than no Vinny. Still, speaking honestly for feedback reasons, I pretty much already ignore Patrick and Alex content because it doesn't feel like GB content. Hopefully Vinny can change that.

When did you pay for your subscription?

It's been monthly on the 8th, last charge April 8th, so I guess it got stopped somehow. I never stopped it though, and there shouldn't have been any issues with my card. Also it worked today, before this. I don't know man!

I guess since I haven't been charged since April 8th I will just resubscribe. Weird. They should really send out emails about this kind of thing.

I watched Vinnyvania earlier today, no issues. Suddenly I come back to the site and I am not a subscriber? I never canceled, I never got a notification of a payment issue. What gives?

Still happening to me. I can't even add an exception, Firefox refuses as far as I can tell. Never had this issue before.

Edit: It finally went to the exception interface after clicking it like 100 times.

I think one big problem is they keep trying to get traditional gamers on board instead of shooting for new audiences. The Wii didn't care if Call of Duty people were on board, it just was what it was and sold to who was interested. Kinect kept trying to force itself into Mass Effect or use the Fable name to try and get me to like it. I was never, ever, going to like it, but the secret is that you don't need me.

The whole video game industry has a problem with budgeting and marketing toward people who want the experience you're making, rather than some mythical "gamer" they have in their heads.

You're right, but I haven't seen anyone in this thread actually argue that Samantha's assertions are incorrect or explain why they think her choice of words is inappropriate. Instead, it's mostly a bunch of people dismissing her piece out of hand because she used a word they don't like to describe a company they do. If they're going to dismiss her article on the basis of tone, then I will happily criticise them for doing so.

Tone really matters though. To dismiss tone is to do a disservice to these debates.

Also I think her labeling went pretty overboard. Throwing around the "racist!" and "sexist!" and "bigot!" terms too casually can result in them meaning nothing. It's something to really watch out for.
