I know that the getting online reflected very poorly on the Wii U but I can't blame it on the device itself. Once stuff did run though I can see how some of this could work and be fun. But also considerably more limiting compared to the other systems. All the warnings make it look like Nintendo is afraid of it's own creation which doesn't show a huge amount of confidence. But time will tell how it all will pan out out on this one.

The slow UI was more of a worry. I do hope they address that in future updates.

As for launch games. Pretty much as expected for me really. Nothing actually god awfully bad but also not super exciting. With Arkham City it was at times hard to tell how bad the frame rate really was. At least not till pathetic low like Epic Mickey 2 though. That was just super poor and the biggest downer of the entire stream. That is really one to avoid.

But in the end while some things turned out not as good others seemed fine. It in no way makes me question my pre-order for the Wii U for the Euro launch. My feelings float a bit between 3 to 4 stars. I gave it 4 here just for some benefit of the doubt.

Terraria

World of Goo

Critter Crunch

Audiosurf

Faerie Solitaire

Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers

Beat Hazard

Those are the fastest that come to mind. Definitely sunken most of all that time in Terraria.

The Nintendo feeling. It's like when you are in your 20's or 30's (and beyond) and your parents still say stuff or address you as if you are still a teen. You know they mean well and try hard to make sure it's all in your best interest. You put up with it because you love them so much. But it sounds a bit patronizing and outdated in the back of your mind.

The Psygnosis owl is one just so iconic even after it's disuse after the name change. I'll miss you regardless. Published only or developed- I'll never forget playing the Wipeout series, Rollcage 1& 2 and Destruction Derby 2.

Glad to read this. If they can just learn a bit more of the Elder Scrolls game to make the world a bit more engaging. They be sure to have a hit on their hands.

I backed this because I like idea and mind set. I'm not hoping for some next gen experience and by no means does any of the fast money gain mean it'll be more then a footnote in a few years. But I'm interested what will happen once it becomes either big or fail and the creators let it silently go. What the community might do with it simply because it's hackable at either point. Whatever the outcome it's an experiment that ultimately gamers and developers will both learn from.

@Macros: Give it some time. It took about 10-15 minutes after activating it to start showing up in my profile.

I got a Scottish friend who found this out today. The store had to be closed and had to stay till they got words if they should start packing everything up inside the store. He's pretty devastated by it. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the employees at all those stores saw the thunderclouds hanging but just hoped so hard they wouldn't be effected by it.
