10 years, the things you love will change. I'm old and miss 2008 too my man. GB (and especially UPF) has always been, with some other considerations, by-and-large the editors/cast doing what they want, and that was the whole point of this website and why I have my subscription. If you're taking this site seriously and expect them to do a certain thing, that's never been their wheelhouse. Now there's the entire Internet game-sphere for that. IMO this is a classic GB co-op hangout stream.
So now they're playing the exact some coop games the original cast played years ago... Why even have this subscriber show anymore? I've been subscribed for almost 10 years now and not only isn't there anyone from the original cast in this video (except Rorie I guess), but they also rehash the games those guys used to play back then.... I really should cancel my subscription I guess, I haven't enjoyed anything they put out lately. Generation Z or whatever it is called is probably more important to business, so let's just put Ben, Dave and Jan on screen because they are popular with the kids..... I don't expect any like-minded people in this comment section as those that would agree with me have probably moved on quite a while ago. So please white knights, spare me with how great GB still is... This is just venting, very unlikely that anyone at GB even cares....
Don't worry there are plenty of "the world is changing and I hate it" commenters still around. :)
I was watching for a while at PAX and talked to one of the devs for a bit, really great project. Kind of reminds me of The Last Express time mechanic mixed with Metroid/Castlevania style gating (I don't know if there's a word for that).
This game looks fascinating to me and I might give it a try, especially if they improved the controls. @paulunga I think they would add notes when the can, and it makes sense, and they're compelled to like Brad was because I got the sense he did like this game in spite of itself.
I really like the idea of this game and everything about it. But, I'm a systems admin for work. It's a lot of visualizing networking stuff in your head, command lines, and "it's a Unix system, I know this". So I just don't know if I can double down on it.
