Hearing the DQ theme got me amped up all over again. Seems like nostalgia is the best and worst of DQ11.

This is maddening.

Square-Enix has undergone drastic changes. It's not the same company - not the same people - that produced the JRPGs that most of us know and love. That's not to say that it's wholly evil or bad. I'm currently enjoying Just Cause 3, and I'm looking forward to playing the new Deus Ex and Tomb Raider games. Hell, I even think that the Final Fantasy MMO is working out pretty well.

That said, if you're looking for faithful and well-crafted JRPGs, you probably need to look elsewhere nowadays. It's a little hard to watch the decline of a series that so many people once held in such high regard.

I'm having a kid in a few months. You'd better believe that when he's old enough, I'll be pointing him at games exactly like KSP. It really is something special.
