@RAMBO604: Also you do not pay for the "disk", you are licencing content from the publisher. You technically do not "own" any video game you have. You have paid for the rights to access what they deem you able to. Fine print in Terms of Services and blah blah blah, etc, etc. You get the idea.

This gets parroted a lot, however it isn't actually true. You buy the game, you own the game. Ever notice how people that make mods don't get arrested? Because it's legal to mod your games. It's legal to sell your games to others. It's legal to RENT your game to someone. Publishers put all that crap you mentioned into the fine print to fool gullible people like you into believing it. You just accept their word for it when they tell you what your rights are. The truth is, you own your games. You own the data on the discs.

eh, I found it hard to read through the whole thing because these two guys seem to still be convinced people are upset because there wasn't a happy ending. holy crap guys, get with the times. any journalist that did the work would have found out otherwise over the past few weeks.

@AntoineDiamonds: the series was all about 'choice.' They had you make some big decisions in all three games, saying they would all affect the story. They said the choices you made would give you, and I quote, 'wildly different endings.' However, none of your choices in ME1 change the story in any meaningful way in ME3. And no matter what you chose, in ALL THREE games, the endings you had to chose from were the same. It didn't matter what you'd decided, ever. To make things worse, the three endings you have to chose from? They're almost identical. Just with a different colour for some explosions.

I used to be an administrator over at Gametrailers.com, years and years ago. I was pretty much in charge of the community side of the site, forums, 'gamepads' and usermovies. Then one day, my boss told me they were being bought by MTV. GT's motto had always been 'quality first.' But after MTV took control, it all went downhill. It became a rush for users and hits. We couldn't ban the retards, because GT wanted them to stay as users. We had to watch our swearing. We had to change everything to become more sterile and 'professional.' I quit shortly after.

The end result is that the community went to shit, and the site has never been the same. I only hope GB is not heading down the same path.

I'm sorry, but making characters in your party die at random in the suicide mission just to make you lose someone only ensures that people will 'exploit' the game saves until the random character that dies is one they don't care about.

Shame on you, Alex. To 'beg the question' does NOT mean 'raise the question.' You are using it incorrectly. I expect your gun and your badge on my desk by this evening.

ok GiantBomb, you win. I had to create an account just to post for this.

It's nonsense to say that Parkin's criticism of uncharted 3 was because it was linear. It was because it was so SCRIPTED. There is a difference. Gears 3 was linear too, but it wasn't full of scripted sequences that lessened the player's influence over his character. Outside of the few cutscenes, you always had control of your character. In uncharted games, and modern warfare, there are a lot of moments where you're sucked into a scripted sequence, and it was these moments that made the reviewer feel like he wasn't in a virtual world, so much as a virtual movie set, which had to reset each time his missed his cue because he didn't know the script.
