I've pre ordered a Vive, over here in canada thats about $1350 all in.. I used a chunk of my vacation pay to justify it :) I'll have a vacation in virtual reality this year ;)
I went with the Vive because everyone says the 1 to 1 hand tracking makes all the difference. Also to me it feels like the only true way VR could be really immersive. I want to be able to turn in any direction, and being able to move around and position myself how ever feels naturally feels a lot more like my holodeck dreams :P
There's a bunch of games that have me really excited already in the works and those are great.. I'm most excited about being there at the ground floor and seeing all the change and rapid progress that will happen. I remember the early days of doom/quake and how fast everything was changing with early 3D. So im excited to tinker too, make mods and maybe even make my own game if i end up with enough spare time.
This is a pretty big bummer for me. I really liked Rising thunder.. I'd actually sold a few friends on it by comparing it to league of legends but with fighters... So I suppose the purchase by riot makes some sense.. But the approachable nature of Rising Thunder almost made a fighter fan out of me, I've never played more then some occasional mortal combat and street fighter in arcades as a kid but I was on the edge of buying a fighting stick just for rising thunder. I can't help but think those guy's talent will be mostly swallowed up and wasted over at Riot. These days I still enjoy league but want more direct control, which is why I like smite a bit more and am looking forward to seeing where paragon goes from here..
PS- I don't know why this didn't occur to me without reading others comments but if they are just going to take the game and re-brand it to use league champs I'm happy for them and fine with that :) I just don't want to see their talent wasted on League of legends which is pretty stagnant and won't change enough for them to have an impact.
Yeah I was ready to fork over $15 which after $5 for metal as fuck devil daggers still felt like a bit much for a small game but $32 doesn't feel like its inline with what's on offer.
@drewbert@unastrike Video levels are still set incorrectly for all of your PC footage, and have been since you moved to the new studio. (not a result of the Windows 10 upgrade)
This results in all the footage being washed out because the output is approximately 16-235 instead of 0-255.
It is particularly bad here since this game is mostly black.
This should be set in the NVIDIA Control Panel:
If it's not the NVIDIA Control Panel at fault, something else is not configured correctly in your capture setup.
I hope someone at giant bomb notices that helpful tip but if not I did and you've fixed the colour on my computer with a setting I didn't know existed besides on my monitor itself. THANKS!

ps- well turns out limited dynamic range was pretty much cheating at this game, with full range the darks are actually dark and it's much harder to see spiders from a distance and the distant spires.. makes a huge difference :)
Rorie "i'm not on my game today" should just be on his t-shirt ;) I don't think I've ever seen him pay attention in one of these things beyond asking for a recap of what everyone has been watching every half hour then re-zoning out.
