I could see the TV stuff working well for a lot of people. I personally like the Rock Band method better myself. Maybe I'm an old man but I'd rather put what songs I want to put into the game rather than playing whatever is served to me. But again this method is probably going to work for a lot of people just not me.
Granted you still need to buy that stuff, but a least it seems more reasonable to access bonus areas then in Infinity. It looked like all you needed was a character from that franchise to access that area. For example, seems like you only need Shaggy or Scooby to access the Scooby-Doo area but not both or one specific one. Where as in Infinity you need the playset piece and sometimes a specific character to access that content. Presumably it'd be cheaper in this.
Been a while since I've seen Empire Strikes Back, but in the movie, doesn't Hoth end with the rebels retreating? If that's the case then that's probably why in this game they want to make it difficult for the rebels to win (Not that they have to keep to continuity but the setup in the movie is such that the Empire has the advantage.)
