Also. Jeff wasn't lying; the team for that WiiU emulator (who I won't mention the name of because it's weird they're making money off of it) is getting almost $28k a month.. damn. I'm shocked Nintendo hasn't tried to take them down yet.
All of these comments, and no one is pointing out that XOR is pronounced EX-OR, not ZOR. It's killing me on the inside to hear! That game seems neat though. The guys should check out Shenzhen I/O; it's made by the wonderful dudes at Zachtronics and combines electronics with programming. It's rad, but as a programmer myself (who's been doing some embedded work on the side lately) it got a little to real for me.
@undeadpool: I know this was almost a year ago, but I'm also pretty sure Final Fantasy 6 displayed a traditional game over screen. Could this have been the GBA version, possibly?
Gosh if only someone was working for the site and playing through FF6 and could answer the question.
I'm with Jeff on this one. Inside didn't impact me at all. The SERE kit moment? Came after I had played hours of campaign before it in that sitting, and I was pissed BT was dead. Being empowered to go and murder everyone after that was an incredible feeling.
Poor Vinny on Google Earth VR. Jeff doesn't bother to mention that there's a "comfort mode" which makes it easier on those more sensitive to motion.
It wasn't the motion that got Vinny. It was the heights. I had a very similar reaction in Batman Arkham VR at the beginning, when you're looking over the rail outside the Iceberg Lounge.
Part of my love of Vinny Caravella died when I heard him saying that wrong.
In my experience, I expect most Americans to pronounce foreign words pretty much according to American English phonetics. I've long since given up on hoping I will ever hear Americans properly say "niche" instead of "nitch", or "clique" instead of "click."
I have never heard anyone say "niche" as "nitch" and that's for the best because I would have their head if they did.
Wait how are you supposed to say clique if not click?
@crazybagman: wish it always worked like that. Where I work, we use PTO as sick days. I'm out of PTO. Unsure of what to do if I get sick sick - I've just had sinus infections recently, and thus go to work.
