My nephew came to me at the age of seven or eight with a smug little smile and told me he had figured out that Santa wasn't real. I tried to jokingly convince him that he was wrong, but quickly let him know that he was right and that there's no Santa. I think he enjoyed the "magic" until he grew out of it, and then felt smart and more like a big boy when he figured it out on his own.
Kids are smart. They'll figure it out, but until they do, look at it more like allowing them to live in a world with magic and wonder than lying to them. Don't deny your kids adventure and wonder. Fairy tales are fun.
I'm gonna make an attempt at mastering GalCiv2. With the exception of one game of Civ V I've never played a 4x game before, so this is probably going to take both time and effort.
@mordukai: I loved the game. Really, really loved it. It made weird feelings come out of my face at the end and left me speechless. The show started ok, but I lost interest fast. The comics are good to great, but I got bored with them after a while too. But the game was wonderful.
I never had any trouble with my save games, and even though the gameplay gets kinda clunky now and then it's still one of the best games I've played all year. So chances are you'll enjoy it, even if the show left you cold.
@nikolajfjordkorsgaard: I had that same problem, but fixed it by restarting Steam. My client immediately downloaded and installed the DLC, and after that I was able to fast travel to the Badass Crater of Badassitude. So if you're on PC, that might be your problem.
