Honestly, this bugs me.

I don't know if that's rational. I gave over my measly bit of cash on the promise of a game that has yet to happen, and while I completely understand and support making the best game you can, I don't think I'm ever going to do it with my money again. I bought a promise and was delivered delays and excuses and another KS from the same company, begging after money because of goodwill.

For me, for the future, I'll hope that great, interesting games are still backed by interested parties, but I will only pay for something I get. This kind of scope creep might make for a better game in the long run, but it makes me feel like I've been taken for a fool. And that they are so glib and confident about it rubs me the wrong way.

Again. I think I'm just having an emotional reaction. I paid for a promise and I feel like it was broken. In the long run it's all good, I guess. But FUCK YOU TIM SCHAFER AND YOUR DOUBLE-FINE HOUSE OF LIES!

Great for us. I am proud of the noise gamers made over this bullshit. And I am happy both of them listened.

This doesn't kill anything interesting about XB1. It allows what's cool to be, while maintaining a (relatively) acceptable relationship with consumers. If you don't want disc-bound content, buy digitally.

Instead of spiting the present to force the future, they've going to allow the transition to all-digital to happen naturally.

Smart move. Good thing Sony thought of it for them and gamers didn't let them forget it.

The production is incredible. Slick and dark and spare. Love it.

Kanye, as an MC, is super boring and vainglorious and tiresome. He's always had modest flow but I'm really tired of his schtick. 'Blood on the Leaves' is the best track, because it feels meaningful (killer sample, too). I don't know. I wish these beats were under the rhymes of someone who had something interesting to say.

I think the XB1 box is really sharp. The composition is striking. Giving over half the box front to the logo floating in black is bold. I like it a lot. Love the controller on the side, too. Great, strong package design.

The PS4 box is nice too, but pedestrian. It is what it is, no more or less.

The important thing is the PS4 box has a PS4 in it, and that thing is gorgeous.

Tom Chick is a great writer (that one farty chain of possessives strikes me as intentional). I'm about halfway through the game, I love it, and I think he's pretty spot on.
