At least the picture of a mutilated torso isn't front and center on the homepage anymore.

edit: It wasn't when I posted this at least. I guess they switched it back for more clicks.

I worked the retail end for the midnight launch of the WiiU. I could describe the event as "underwhelming". Granted, we're not the biggest retailer in town, but we're the only store that sells electronics in the immediate neighborhood. We had 6 people in line since 7PM. By the time we reopened to let them in, we had about 10. A few came afterwards, rounding the number to about 12.

We sold out of the Black Deluxe, as expected. But we still had a LOT of the White Standards; about 8 to 10 units. Granted, most knowledgeable people interested in the WiiU would probably go for the Black, but it still strikes me that the demand wasn't a little bit more rabid for the new hardware.

I suppose that says a lot, doesn't it?

It doesn't really say as much as the specific number in the article above.

...which is 200,000 less than the Wii launch?

I feel sorry for people who are unable to enjoy a fun game. I finished all 4 campaigns today and had a great time doing it. It seems many people would rather shit on a game than overlook some flaws and, god forbid, enjoy themselves.

Why? I mean it isn't like someone who hated the game is doing nothing but fume about it. They'll move on and play any number of other things that are coming out now or very soon.

And why do you feel anyone should sugar coat issues with the game? Although it is not quite "speak truth to power" ignoring problems while discussing games does no good for anyone.

Well, I feel that some people are missing out because they won't let themselves play the game due to the overwhelming negativity surrounding it. I happen to know one such person in this exact situation. I never said anything about sugar coating issues. I said that the issues can be overlooked while playing to have an enjoyable time. I don't think about the scientific impossibility of zombies while watching a zombie movie, I overlook that to enjoy the film.

yah man its just like Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon, crtocs whit on it saying Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon was boring, plodding, dumb, vile, unfunny, and disgusting, but I thought Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon was really funny. I like it when Whoa Lebouef works with that one actor guy from Being John Malkovich. also when Asian man Was named wang.

Sick burn, bro. The spelling and grammar really sell it. I've never seen Transformers 3, and this may be a foreign concept to you, but I think people are totally allowed to enjoy it! At the end of the day, it is another form of entertainment, and if it tickles a person's fancy then that's just great. If someone paid for a movie ticket and got a couple of hours of entertainment out of it, a critic saying the movie is terrible doesn't negate or invalidate their experience.

There is nowhere to go from Mass Effect 3, surely? Better to just be done with it and not have the series outstay its welcome.

The Mass Effect universe doesn't revolve around Shepard.

It most certainly does. Any game without Shepard in it will be Mass Effect in name only.

I wouldn't be surprised if amazon gets a second run of the collector's editions.
