Art Bloggin' - Ryan/ TANG

I've had my nose to the grindstone for the past couple of weeks with work so my community artin' has been extra slow. I also lost some work I did of Ryan which made it even more difficult to chug along with it. I was determined to finish it today, my apologies for the tardiness:

Sketched this to the tune of the battle music (a lot of the strokes went with the music as I sketched). I rarely draw environments of any kind so this was a fun break.

My Fallout 3 Costume Progress

So I scored a sweet jumpsuit from a thrift store for six dollarie-doos and some yellow paint. I'm working on it right now and will upload pics as I finish the stages. Here are the first 3:

Step One: I make stencils with the "Capital Wasteland" font I found on that wonderful invention that are the Intertubes. The edges are a little raggy but that will be fixed by the end.

Step Two: I continue painting. I remember to accidentally drop a dollop of paint that I'll probably have to cover up with blue pen ink.

Step 3: Here's what I may or may not use for a Pip-Boy. I might actually go with my fat PSP instead so I can get a PB background on it with a Galaxy News Radio mp3 playing . (My sweet pipe and telescopic baton make a cameo in this photograph)

More to come as I work! I sure hope the card stock I put in the jumpsuit held up or else there's gonna be a backwards "101" on the front, el oh el

Giant Bomb Art Catalog

A few people asked me if I could put all of my GB art in one place for ease of viewing so after getting permission I constructed a bare-bones page for them all. I'm still fiddling with the layout but I wanted to get the finished pictures up while I have some down time. This week has been hectic so I haven't been able to get Ryan started just yet. Anyway, here you go!

Here's my first sketch, I'll probably stick with it. Needless to say there's a lot of refining that needs to be done. I know a lot of people wanted me to draw him ripping out Owe Boll's heart but I wanted something a bit simpler than that for now.

My Reptiles :3

A break from art and video game-related stuff. I worked at a pet store for awhile as a Fish and Reptile Tech, I loved my job before the company let sick reptiles die knowing long beforehand they had time to get them vet-checked so I quit. Anyway, here's my tiny collection so far.

This is Avarus, my Citrus-Sandfire Bearded Dragon. A great beginner reptile but they're great pets on the whole.

She's gettin' chunky.

This is my Okeetee Corn Snake. His original name was Super Nintendo Chalmers, but we just call him "Snake".

Okeetee is the most common corn snake morph but I appreciate the orange-to-yellow gradient as well as his black and white checkered belly. Their natural habitat contains corn as their name suggests, but more specifically Indian Corn. This pattern is intended for them to blend in with that, so I get him the decorative Indian Corn in the fall to line his tank with so he feels more at home :3

Finally I have my White's Tree Frog. A friend of mine wanted him and I decided it was better for him to be with her, but he's an awesome little dude and barked whenever he heard my hair dryer. Here's a picture of him meditating. One day I'll get the giant file I have of this printed as a poster:

Man that frog kicked ass.

Well it's Saturday so I had to hurriedly clean up the pencils for inking today. I have a friend flying in from the Homeland this Tuesday which means I need today to frantically clean my entire apartment. I might Livestream, I might not. Either way, I'm eating a breakfast sandwich before I do SHIT.

(There are some un-erased spots but it doesn't matter because it's being inked digitally anyway.)

Got some super rough work of Jeff and his Jack Frost done this morning. I need a webcam or something so I can sketch during my weekly live shows since that's the most interesting aspect of these things, seeing it come together. Anyway I digress, here's the sketch so far:

I'm constructing a place on my website to put all of my GB work so it's easier to find rather than scrolling through various blog entries. Though I can't post the link until I get permission to have a page like that on a separate site (I imagine that'd open up some sort of legal thing which just isn't worth the headache). We'll see, I guess. ^_^
