My first blog, so my not be the best. Lets start off by going back to the past 1998 the hey days, Everyone thought the world was going to end. Gamers got some of the best games in history, need I say more. Well anyways there was a over looked game it was a sim, yes a sim. What sim you say Mircosoft  flight sim 98, no it was Mech warrior 2. Though it was sim it was the first game that most of us mech fans got a hold of.

It also had another add on Mech warrior 2 Mercs, which let you buy your mechs repair them. It felt like you where running Mech company blasting apart everyone even if it was your last job. Wouldn't you love switching jobs for higher pay then killing your boss cool it was! Though I do not have this game i have Mech warrior 2, i will do my best to try get some vids up.

Now a the RTS realm of Mech warrior in 1998 too we had Mech Commander. It allowed you to be control up to 12 mechs in the battle against the Smoke Jags, (I say that because i can't spell =p) Its was cool but the best part was the RPG element. After every mission you Mech warriors would gain stats, So in turn a good green rookie in the first mission could be your ace in the in 10 or 12 missions. It was cool and kinda keep you playing.

In 1999 it had a add on, With a map editor and another Set of missions where you fought renegades of the group you killed in the first game. It was cool and still has a small online player base at mech commander.org look me up! Well add me if you want links the works.

Now to the fall of mech commander it was its sequal Mech Commander 2. Now in all respect it wasn't a bad game but thorwing Mech on it change on what we expected also changes in concepts it was first said that you could build mechs in the field. They later got rid of that for a more old style view but instead of getting that good old feel you lost it. With  poor sales and lacking online play it died, but was not forgotten later some player made add ons and brought back some of the wonder and made a great mod.
