Are you sure it's a ticket and not just a warning?
The only time I've told someone they didn't have to go to court on a traffic ticket ("voluntary payment or you can dispute it in court. Court is at xxxxx at xxxx date at xxxx time.") is when I've issued a written warning. A warning has the same significance as a ticket for our in-office stats, and costs the offender nothing, so I usually gave those instead.
I never miss a bombcast (though I'll delay listening to them occasionally to avoid spoilers) and I try to watch as much videos as I can. But I have a family and career and making time is rough. Still, I had an account made day one of the site and I followed the Arrow Pointing Down podcast following the gamespot fallout of 2007.
@Castermhief117: Thanks for the update. Good for the Giant Bomb crew. I bet they got a nice payout out of the deal. They earned that. I'm very happy for them.
So. I'm a working man and haven't been able to follow most of this. Here are the parts I'm getting: Whiskey Media was bought by CBS. Got it. Giant Bomb and Comic Vine are moving their offices to Gamespot.
The big question: Do I still follow the Bombcast or Hotspot for my weekly Ryan, Jeff, Vinny, Brad fix?
In Canada, making a public complaint against a police officer is easy. Contact the commission of public complaints and they will investigate. Or you could report the actions of an individual to his superior. In the police force I work for (RCMP), all allegations against police must be taken seriously and will be investigated. The outcomes of such investigations vary on a case-by-case basis. I have no issue providing this information because I, and every other police I have worked with in my 12 years on the force, have done the best I can in every situation to provide the care needed to maintain the dignity and Human Rights of everyone we've had to deal with. If somebody feels that a police officer acted inappropriately or breached your constitutional rights, I fully encourage that person to make a complaint. We don't want power-tripping pricks in the police force either. They make shitty cops and even worse supervisors.
OP, I don't know what police officer maligned you so much that you proudly play "Fuck Da Police", but I understand that being bullied by someone in Authority sucks. I'm sorry that it occurred to you.
We aren't all bad. In fact, most of us are very fun and go out of our way to be kind. We have a difficult and dangerous job to do, but that will never excuse unprofessional behaviour.
