The OP's...post is actually a funny name. I'd name myself that (ironically).

Back in the day of OG Xbox (you know, with the Halo 2s and the Crimson Skies?), my gamertag was "Lizzle McDizzle".

Pronounced "Lizz-ull Mick-dizz-ull". Yeah, I did not have a good sense of humor when I was in high school.

I'm not going to just talk about video games here, let's get even bigger than that.

What was your most disappointing, some might even say "soul crushing" experience this year?

It could be a movie or book that sucked compared to your own hype, it could be a bad date, whatever, though you can talk about a disappointing game if you'd like.

Let's commiserate together and hope for a better 2010.

Mine: Finding out that my work would be closing down, that I would be out of a job, as well as finally seeing that absolutely no one in Irvine had  part-time positions available for a poor college student.

Yay.

Your turn.

Because I buy/play games 6 + months after they've been released, I'm always behind games-wise (for example, I'm just finishing up Mirror's Edge, and I recently closed the books on Professor Layton & the Curious Village). So that means I haven't played any of the big hitters yet, like MW2 (which I'm 99% sure I won't like), Uncharted 2 and others.

Killzone 2 is amazing, but I haven't finished it yet. So for right now, I'll say Street Fighter IV because it got me ridiculously hooked on fighting games again.

I honestly doubt that anyone will check this forum, but I just wanted to comment on how much this bugs me.

We all know "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, that insanely hard song from Rock Band 2.
It's in GH: VH (wow, that's kinda fun to write), but the six second beginning (and IMO, song-defining) drum solo is absent.

All I can ask is why? Seriously, why? I don't know why it bothers me so much, honestly, but it reminds me of how half-assed this game is. I'll eventually write a review of this game (probably when it releases in retail) but I just wanted to vent my frustrations here on the GB forums.

*cries*

Looks port-y.

Too bad that this isn't shaping up to be a true sequel to the first game- that one had a ton of potential. All it needed was some updated rosters, more moves & a better create-a-wrestler mode, and it could've easily taken out any of Yuke's Smackdown games in a head-to-head comparison.

I'm dumbfounded as to why they're just going to ignore the last game all of a sudden, and go "back to basics".

Mulligans are only in golf games; you can't just call out "re-do" whenever you want.

@skrutop:

First off, your faux press release made me laugh out loud...during my writing class. (Not your fault).

Second, I honestly think that Activision will not admit defeat, at least not yet. I think they're going to do this with RIDE & DJ Hero- even if the first game didn't sell too hot, they're gonna churn out another one, try maybe promoting it again, and seeing if it stays afloat. If not, fuck it. They can afford to make 60 more Tony Hawk games and have them bomb as long as they make a Modern Warfare every 2 years.

Ryan's favorite song ever:

"Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" (Wallpaper Remix) by Das Racist.

Seriously, look it up- I don't want to link; too scared to be moderated :(

Bob Dylan. Glad to see that at least some people have been voting for him as well.

I'm pretty sure it was said already, but you have to check out LCD Soundsystem.

Sound of Silver is honestly one of the best albums I've heard in my life. Seriously, there is not a bad song on that whole LP.
