Just a heads up to anyone regarding the arm wrestling chat. There are a ton of videos on YouTube of people arm wrestling and snapping their wrists. Sorry.

Hell yeah! I don't have time for this for another 2-3 days still, but it's been waaay too long since the last jar time. Probably my favorite feature on the site.

@schnoo: Because it didn't give you a win or the other player a loss. It still might not. I'm not sure since I don't really play SFV.

Hopefully he'll still be doing some sort of similar fun video content on his new site or I'll be even more bummed.

@fetterdave @kasaioni He figured it out in the very first episode, like I assume most people did. He didn't KNOW until the end though, of course. He brought it and a couple other plot points up another time pretty early in the series as well, so I think he was relatively sure rather early on.

This game's business model and design is much more devious than I think people realize. There are quite a few reasons, but just as an example, the chests drop in a set order each day(meaning silver/gold/magical). There's only one reason to do this rather than generate random chest quality and that's to cause people to lose out on the rarer chests. All you need are 3 data points across all players. Chests received each day, number of available chest slots, and chests unlocked per day. I doubt it needs explanation, but just in case, you take the number of chest slots the largest percentage of players are sitting on and change the order of the chests that drop such that the smallest percentage of players can possible receive the highest rarity chest(without spending money). Whether that means dropping one immediately after those players would've capped their slots(unlikely, because that'd be the 5th chest at the most), or just beyond the avg number of unlocked chests, plus the first number(the number of empty slots). The number of chests received is for the actual calculation, which would be based on hours rather than the relatively simpler explanation I gave. Paying players would already be unaffected by this for the most part and most players even if they knew the chests dropped in a set order wouldn't understand the potential repercussions of it. AND there's absolutely no risk involved. People can't get upset about it because they can just change the order again to prove it wrong seeing as there's no regulation. That's why I have some respect for Japan for seeing this shit for what is, gambling. Gambling that's legal for children with no payouts. It hasn't really affected the business model meaningfully and that's fine, but it at least reassuring that someone is attempting to oversee the drop rates in these types of games.

ALSO, just because the game has matchmaking doesn't mean it's not pay to win and the business model isn't remotely similar to hearthstone's.
